LIMA Dynamics

In classical drug discovery, researchers sift through a large database of known compounds, until they find one that has a desired effect on a target virus/protein. A new technique, Inverse Molecular Design flips the script: Researchers specify a desired behaviour/effect, and Generative AI builds the drug molecules. Generative models for drug design navigate a configurational space vastly larger than their counterparts in image generation, necessitating massive volumes of highly specific training data. LIMA is the first MD software build for generative AI. Unlike other MD engines, it plugs directly into existing technologies used to train AI models (PyTorch), making it possible to directly simulate drug discovery experiments. LIMA MD will enable companies to generate compounds not possible in a wet lab and put this information directly into Generative AI models. Why are we doing this? To help pave the way for a new generation of drugs, with fewer and well known sideeffects.

Blend

Blend is a mission-led start-up which believes business should be a force for social good. Blend works with social enterprises who employ and uplift marginalized women from patriarchal villages in India to bring elegant products to the urban buyer in Nordics. Our main product line is carpets hand-made with natural materials such as wool, jute, silk and recycled PET. The carpets are made with the same superior weaving technique of Persian carpets but have simple and neutral designs which suit the Nordic design sensibility. By promoting handmade products by marginalized women Blend can impact 11 out of 17 UN SDG goals. We launched in Q2 and already have our products in boutique store in North of Copenhagen. Once we establish market connects, Blend wants to connect designers from Denmark and other Nordic countries to production centers in these rural villages to blend the functional Nordic design with 5000 years old artisanal talent of India. In future, Blend will also explore tech-based leasing options for its high-end home furnishing range. We believe that everyone should be able to upgrade home furnishings without giving-in to consumerism and impacting mother nature adversely. Blend is founded by Shakti, an Indian who has lived in Denmark and worked at many Senior Director level positions in Danish companies like Mæersk, Deloitte and Rambøll. Through Blend, Shakti hopes to bring functional Danish design closer to the 5000 years old artisanal talent of India. When one wholeheartedly loves two countries so diametrically opposite to each other, then it’s impossible to hold back from exploring what a blend of these 2 cultures can offer to the world. Her desire to contribute to women empowerment through livelihood is rooted in her own experience and observation of how girls are still seen as a liability in many rural areas. Over 2.5 million Norwegians lack recommended vaccines, and unfortunately, many are unaware of this. But luckily, there is a solution: Flokki. We are ready to play a key role in increasing vaccination rates and improving public health. Dr. Arne Søraas, an experienced infectious disease specialist at Oslo University Hospital and Flokki, has witnessed the consequences of missing vaccinations up close. This insight inspired the idea of Flokki - a simple and practical tool that allows patients to assess their vaccination status and receive prescriptions from doctors, all with a few taps on their mobile phones (read more). Maintaining immunity in the adult population, especially after the age of 65, is crucial. The pneumococcal vaccine is particularly important for protecting the elderly from serious diseases. And let's not forget the Boostrix Polio vaccine, which plays a critical role in protecting against whooping cough, especially for those in close contact with newborns. With over 2.5 million Norwegians lacking vaccines, almost all pharmacy staff should be able to provide recommendations for vaccine checks. We especially encourage those over 65 to check their vaccination status, as well as pregnant women, who have a special duty to protect themselves and their unborn children. By raising awareness of the importance of vaccination and providing easy access to vaccines, Flokki is the answer to the adult vaccination program. Together, we can improve public health and reduce the incidence of serious diseases in society.

Foodture

Foodture is an innovative food company developing plant-based, fermented products using locally sourced ingredients. Developing new plant-based products that consumers love, and that are competitive with industrially-produced meat, is a key element of the transition towards a green economy and a regenerative way of life. Foodture’s product is a version of tempeh made from locally-sourced legumes which are fermented and then prepared as blocks, cubes, patties or in a shredded version. The product is used currently mainly in food service applications, but there are many other possibilities. Several product development efforts are ongoing, including collaborations with Aarstiderne and Noma. There is a real sense of momentum in the category, with a high pace of innovation and competition. The environmental footprint of tempeh is very low compared to red and white meat, but also compared to most other meat alternatives on the market today.
