Cotio helps air passengers get back items that have been removed from them by airport security.Our concept is based on a straight-forward process, strong software and profound understanding of airport management. The service started at Helsinki Airport in September 2016 and was later on extended to four other airports. We have received two rounds of BusinessFinland funding.

SoCentral

SoCentral utvikler likeverdige partnerskap med kommuner, næringsliv og innbyggere som vil utvikle et mer bærekraftig samfunn. Vi ble startet av tre gründere i 2012, og er et ideelt aksjeselskap hvor alt av overskudd brukes til videreutvikling. I dag er vi en liten bedrift med 8 heltidsansatte og 2 deltidsansatte, men med et stort miljø og nettverk rundt oss. Vi driver en inkubator med over 200 medlemmer på Sentralen i Oslo, og utvikler og leder prosjekter og samarbeid for å nå bærekraftsmålene. The PERE narrative We set out to fix a fairness problem that’s plagued the hospitality industry for as long as most can remember. And if we don’t fix it - right now - it might very well result in the complete erosion of how we think about the hospitality business today. Have we got your attention? Great! Let’s start with restaurants, who still reward local businesses for referring guests in ways that are beyond outdated. Offering things like free drinks, meals and under-the-table cash payments are not only unsustainable, they’re eschewed by those receiving them and largely frowned upon by regulatory bodies. What restaurants need is a more effective and modern way to get butts in seats and reward loyal referrers. And reliable, personal referrals from higher-spending guests have never been in greater demand for the beleaguered restaurant industry. Even before the pandemic, food delivery was slowly upending restaurants by forcing them to pay absurdly high commissions for customers on what are already razor thin margins. Even more, restaurants are now pressured to change their businesses to serve take-away and delivery customers instead of the more profitable (and real) dine-in customers, which is why almost all chefs and restaurateurs got into the business to begin with. At the same time, hotels - responsible for sending restaurants a steady flow of personal referrals - are forced to fork out big bucks just to get guests to their properties, much of that going to online travel agencies who charge up to 30% commissions for referrals. With profits shrinking, you’d think that hotels could simply recover those earnings when they refer their guests to nearby businesses. If they’re paying when they receive a guest referral, shouldn’t they be paid when they make a guest referral? That seems fair. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. That’s because today, the hospitality referral model is a broken, one-way street with no quick and easy way for people to profit when they make a personal referral. That includes especially hotel concierges, whose entire existence is founded on the ability to provide quality referrals. Feeling increasingly overlooked, undervalued and under appreciated in a digital world, they’re eager for an easier and better way to re-stake their claim and profit from sending guests to local businesses. That’s why we think it’s time for a change - a new and more fair way to do business in the hospitality industry. Akla is a food saver app! With Akla food outlets can reduce their food waste and at the same time increase their profit. Consumers on the other hand browse the Akla app to find great offers nearby and 50% discount. Akla works primarily out of the Gulf where food waste is among the worst in the world.  We the Akla team are seasoned digital entrepreneurs with more than one failed startup under our belt. We like to work agile and expect everyone to take ownership of what they do. As a digital startup we also strongly believe that an office is just an address, so working remote for us is more than OK.
