We are doing research and development to cool the sea surface temperature by exploiting colder water deeper down in the sea. This will help us cope with climate change. In 2016, hurricane Matthew swept across Haiti, taking 852 lives and destroying many towns on the island. Another essential factor is that the sea surface temperature is above 26.5°C. Climate change is causing sea surface temperatures to increase.
