Markedsprisen på CNF er høy – og tilgangen på produktet har frem til nå vært begrenset globalt. I 2015 ble det omsatt CNF for rundt 10 milliarder NOK globalt. Anvendelse av produktet er sterkt stigende – og ny teknologi som vi besitter gjør det mulig å optimalisere produksjonen, og således sikre en stabil tilførsel av CNF til markedet. Bergen Carbon Solutions (BCS) ble etablert i 2016 basert på en bacheloroppgave ved Høyskolen på Vestlandet. Forskningen bak oppgaven ble tildelt «Klimaprisen» ved høyskolen, samt «NITO-prisen» for det arbeidet som har det mest innovative potensial. Forskningen er senere verifisert av Sintef på oppdrag fra BCS.
