Rub & Stub is a social enterprise that focuses on sustainability. We ran the restaurant 'Spisehuset Rub & Stub' for three years: the first restaurant in Europe to put surplus food on the menu. Now, we facilitate food waste-workshops, do surplus food-events and consultancy - all to share our knowledge on food waste and inspire to more sustainable action.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between cultures and languages. We want to make the world smaller by breaking the barriers that separate people. We feel like there is still too much hate in the world. Generally, we want to help people through communication. We want to help the refugee to get integrated into the country and to feel comfortable. Last year the government spent 500 million NOK on interpretation services. This year, the budget has doubled because of the refugee crisis. Half of the money is earmarked for travel. If you can convert 10-20% of that money to video, then we could save a lot of money both for the government and the taxpayers. Then we could spend it on education and health systems.

It took days to navigate the local system architecture. And even when we found documentation, the lack of standardization made things even harder. To make matters worse, we never really understood the big picture, “how were we affecting other teams, processes, and systems?” we could never know. All this wasted time was costing these companies money and causing employees huge amounts of frustration, especially when new staff arrived. So we decided to stop pulling our hair out and created a lightweight, easy-to-use alternative to the solutions you find in enterprise architecture and documentation software.

We are a Stockholm-based startup coming from awarded robotics research. Our software solutions are the first to enable easy and scalable implementation of Virtual Reality (VR) training and certification for industry companies worlwide. We're a small team based in central Stockholm that combines awarded entrepreneurs, top-ranked robotics researchers and experienced developers. The company was founded in the end of 2014 and since then we have been awarded the Super startup of the year by Veckans Affärer, been prized by MIT, won the European startup competition EIT Digital Idea Challenge and much else.
