The short story: We're a Norwegian contech startup and we're prefabricating rebar cages with robotics. The long story: Rebartek was founded in 03/2018. In our first year, we have grown our team to 10 members with a wide range of backgrounds from different industries. We are developing a ground-breaking solution for the construction industry. Our robots manufacture steel reinforcement cages that are used in concrete structures. We are developing a highly automated service that starts at the design of the cages and ends with the delivery of the cages to the construction site. Today almost all rebar welding and tying is done manually by humans. This is dangerous, time-consuming and physically brutal work. We want to provide an optimized solution for manufacturing rebar, with an added bonus of tailored models and a streamlined administrative workflow.  Our philosophy is to take a lot of small steps quickly. We embrace failures and learn from them. We like being daring, trying new things and look for opportunities rather than focusing on limitations.  We're hiring! Rebartek needs daring, smart people. The Pitch Most tidal power plants today generate power only in one direction. Projected, next-generation tidal power plants with two-way production have sub-optimal production. Tidetec patented technology improves efficiency by 11-22% of the most cost effective tidal turbine technology by obtaining optimal efficiency both ways and pumping efficiency. This is achieved by integrating the turbine into a rotating turret. The turning mechanism is patented, and has received international recognition. The What Tidetec can kick-start a huge UK Market The How Tidetec has developed a fully functional scale model prototype of the turning mechanism. The turning mechanism prototype has been successfully tested in sea water for two months. Prototyping has shown feasibility of the concept and the model turbine simulations and testing confirm turbine efficiencies much higher than state of the art traditional turbines for 2-way hydropower. In summary, prototyping engineering, feasibility studies and cost estimations of the Tidetec concept have proven major efficiency increase compared to traditional concepts. The results show that the Tidetec concept is potentially disruptive technology for 2-way hydropower in Tidal lagoons and barrages, and can kick-start this market. TEAM Tidetec has built a competent team guided by its co-founder and CEO. Tidetec team has been balanced to meet the commercial phase and Tidetec heading for an establishment of The Tidetec Two-way Hydropower Consortium consisting of EPCI partner, State funding partner GIEK /Export Credit and sub-suppliers to be able to deliver for Tidal range projects. PARTNERS Tidetec core function is development of market and technology within two-way hydropower. For everything else we use our trusted network of partners. From 2018 Tidetec is collaborating with Engineering company Femkuber AS. The Tidetec Two-way Hydropower Consortium consisting of EPCI partner, State funding partner GIEK /Export Credit and sub-suppliers to be able to deliver for Tidal range projects is expected to be in operation during 2018. Tidetec have signed MoU collaboration agreement with several, renowned international developers, turbine producers and sub-suppliers. MARKET The Tidetec market is 2-way hydropower, which means the tidal range market, with a focus on the tidal lagoon/tidal barrier/flood defence industry. Studies indicate a potential global market for Tidal Range hydropower up to 30Bn€ (investments). Tidetec's concept is not limited by turbine type, MW or geographical area. The Why Tidetec has developed and patented technology that can kick-start the Tidal Barrier and Tidal Lagoon market.

Our sensors prevents both fires and break-ins, powered by a hyper-local neighbourhood watch. Together we can fix a flawed industry and allow everyone the safety that they deserve. --- Today, home security is not something everyone can afford. A contract with the biggest home security company in Sweden, Verisure, starts at a whopping 369 kronor/month, which is more than your Spotify, Netflix and HBO subscriptions, combined. That contract only covers a small apartment, and I haven't even mentioned the upfront cost of over 4 000 kronor just to get started. Unfortunately this is pretty much the same deal as you’ll get from the other large providers too. We believe this is wrong; home security should not only be for the privileged, everyone should have the possibility to protect what they hold most dear; their home and family. This is why we started Alvira; to provide better protection against fires and break-ins to a fraction of the cost. To do this, we use cheap, but very reliable, sensors placed all around your home that detect both smoke and motion. If either is detected, residents instantly get notified through our app and can from there contact their closest neighbours. The neighbours who are home can then quickly, from a safe distance, investigate and alert the authorities. Every year around 100 lives are lost in residential fires in Sweden alone, affecting thousands of families. As if those numbers aren't alarming enough, more than one in every 100 households will be victims of a break-in every year. That's 1 % of all Swedish homes, every year. With our custom designed sensor, intuitive app and connected neighbourhood watch we will introduce a new, better solution that everyone can afford.
