Just living on earth these last couple of years has been exhausting and guess what, spending 100 hours just trying to find something to watch is not really what we are in the mood for at the end of yet another day in covid/war/climate crisis-times or any time for that matter. Streaming platforms are undeserving their users' need for a fast and uncomplicated path to discovery. Disney+, Apple TV+, NBC Universal’s Peacock, Warner Media’s HBO Max were all launched between November 2019 and May 2020, paving the way for what media calls the ‘Streaming War’. Needless to say the competition has become tougher over the last couple of years. In order to attract new users the content on each respective platform doesn’t seem to be the main trigger for people anymore, but rather the platform's algorithmic technology. Meaning how the content is organised, how accessible it is and the way it is presented on the platform. These algorithms are also called a ‘sociotechnical process’ by scientists and have over the last decade emerged as a crucial part of shaping our culture and personal taste through complex relationships between human and non-human players. We spend hours of our lives scrolling through these different platforms trying to find something we’d like to watch. Research suggests we spend 100 hours per year for an average user to be exact, only on Netflix. That's a total of over 21 billion hours per year. 21 billion hours in turn is 2,4 million years. Our first app is in the works and will help users figure out their own taste as well as recommend things to watch based on their own preferences, without overwhelming them in a sea of options. So, will the future of streaming require us to scroll and jump in between platforms in the same way as we do today? Not if we get to decide! We believe in a scroll-free world and Hint will provide not just one way to deal with this but many.

We, at Luxreaders, are a young, international, small (but prosperous!) Danish company with our roots in Copenhagen, Denmark. Since 2018, we help people read! With reading glasses as the initial core product, Luxreaders was eventually founded with the ambition of creating a platform, that would transform the way people buy their reading glasses! ... Wait, what? Reading glasses? Yep, you read that correct ;-) And later on, the assortment has expanded to blue light glasses and sunglasses. So how and why do we sell glasses online? Our experience within the optical industry has revealed to us that the market is highly driven by purchasing reading glasses through gas stations, supermarkets and such. These businesses, to a large extent, focus on low prices, high margins and aren't interested in customization when it comes to consumers personal fit, style and quality. We want to change that! Layn has developed a mobile-based digital queueing system that enables businesses to increase customer satisfaction by adding a mobile platform to the customer journey. People hate standing in line in stores, at amusement park attractions, electrical charging points, hospitals, and restaurants. The list goes on. By using Layn, the customer can wait for the service where they want, postpone a ticket, use a Fastlane, VIP ticket, or Future ticket to get to the service they need as fast as possible. Layn has developed a cloud platform that lets businesses use whatever hardware they would like to solve their use case. The platform is flexible and extremely adaptable. There are cases with pure mobile to mobile operations, but there are also cases with touchscreen and digital signage solutions delivered by our partners. For some customers, we integrate the solution with access gates and existing operational systems to get the desired customer journey. Users can either get a paper ticket or use their mobile device to get an electronic ticket. We spend all our time developing a solution that is as intuitive, easy, and smart to use as possible. We aim at reducing the relative time felt waiting. In 2019 the two founders took a family trip to Paris to visit the Eiffel tower. After spending 2 hours in line to get through security and pay for their tickets, they had to go back at the end of the line again to wait for the rest of the family members. Like most people, they hate standing in line. They wanted to create a solution where they instead of physically having to stand in line rather could sit down and have a drink while waiting for their turn in the "digital line". After that, the number of use-cases has just exploded.
