HATO Medical Technologies

Haato is 'heart' in japanese and the heart is the focus of HATO Medical Technologies. HATO is a MedTech company specializing in heart monitoring and analysis. We have developed an innovative technology that assists healthcare professionals with increasing their qualifications in analyzing and interpreting electrocardiograms (ECG) through 3D visualizations of the heart and data-driven artificial intelligence. According to WHO, heart diseases are the largest killer in the world. Heart diseases and conditions are located and diagnosed with the use of ECG. This heart examination is practiced by General Practitioners, EMTs / Paramedics, Nurses, Doctors, and Cardiologists. Misinterpretation of ECG analysis leads to misdiagnosis, which might lead to fatal consequences for patients and the social economy. A British study estimates that up to 68,5% are misdiagnosed with heart failure. HATO's new digital solution analyzes heart diseases from ECGs using artificial intelligence and machine learning. The software solution increases the foundation of decisions of the healthcare professionals and combines 3D visualizations with our ML models for real-time animation of the patient's heart. All of this will assist healthcare professionals with localizing abnormalities and allow them to react faster at critical events. Innovative and easy. Long story short, the software platform will raise the bottom level of ECG interpretation and give all healthcare professionals a cardiologist by their hand.

COBO Technologies

COBO Technologies is a fast-growing start-up company based in Copenhagen, Denmark, that specializes in products and services for Quality Control (QC) of CRISPR modified cells and animals. The team behind COBO comes from senior positions in science, commercial and operation, with more than 10 years experience in the CRISPR field. Within the last 5 years, the CRISPR field has developed from more than 100 publications per year to now more than 5,000 publications per year and the number of ongoing clinical trials using a CRISPR tool is now more than 60. In 2020 two CRISPR scientists received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their CRISPR inventions, proving that this is a fast-growing field which is now moving from research to clinics. In consequence, there is a need for platforms that can support efficient QC of CRISPR cells. In more general terms, there is a need to understand what are the safety effects of altering DNA with CRISPR — hitting the right target gene, checking how efficient the DNA change is, and investigating other DNA changes that were not expected. Most of the solutions offered today for cell/DNA analysis are not developed specifically for CRISPR applications. They are expensive, lack sensitivity and are time-consuming and they are done by service companies with no/or little knowledge about CRISPR. Based on our experience from the CRISPR field and feedback from our network in the EU and US, we have developed proprietary platforms that can support the current needs for QC of CRISPR cells. Including both proven reagents for sample preparation, cell analysis and bioinformatics, this is the first full-package solution developed specifically for CRISPR clients. In addition, it combines low cost, high sensitivity and fast delivery time - 3 factors essential for our clients. We have used the past year to build up a scalable operation in Denmark in a low-risk setup and are now ready to speed up the growth first in the EU and then later 2021 in the US. In addition, we will also start the initial preparation of our first development project for a clinical application at the end of 2021. Since the start 2018, COBO has supported more than 15 clients in both EU and US, including leading pharma companies and some of the leading universities in the world. We have developed unique platforms, we have clients every week, we have the network and we have the skills to be a major player in the global CRISPR field and be part of the development of future CRISPR Medicine to treat genetic diseases. As of today, COBO Technologies is backed by an angel investor.

Ceretai

Ceretai develops AI software and services to help the media and entertainment industries improve diversity and equality in TV programs, movies and other media content. In the Western world we consume up to 10 hours of media every day - news, Netflix, social media, you name it. Through this media we are shown a biased image of the world - for example, only 30% of speaking roles in cinema movies globally are given to women, and only 1% of characters in movies have functional limitations. This of course affects our view of the world, teaching us biases and contributing to an unsustainable world of discrimination and segregation. At the same time, national and international governmental bodies in the media industry are focusing very hard on exactly these issues. Just like in other industries, authorities like the European Broadcasting Union and national public service regulators are looking at the UN sustainability goals and trying to find ways to increased gender equality (goal no. 5) and decreased inequalitites (goal no. 10). Research shows that 80% of movie and TV audiences want to change the state of diversity in media and entertainment. "Newcomers" like Netflix continue to steal audiences with norm-breaking series showing a different picture of the world - one that includes a diversity of stories and people. At Ceretai we have made it our mission to support the media industry in creating more diversity in their content. We have built a SaaS solution, the Diversity Dashboard, that automatically analyses any given media file for gender and age representation, and we continue to develop it to cover more grounds for discrimination. We also provide services for creating awareness and fostering change within European media organisations, for example workshops and reports. The idea that became Ceretai was sparked in late 2017, in the wake of the Me Too campaign, when the founders grew tired of not finding entertainment that matched their values. Realising how unconsciously biased we all are, the company was founded in early 2018 with the idea of building an automated tool for detecting norms and stereotypes in popular culture. Our mission has stayed the same: contributing to a more equal and tolerant world by using technology to create awareness and change.

Lalatoys

Lalatoys is a new startup, building a sharing economy retail service for children’s toys. The concept is simple: you sign up and pick the toys you want to play with. Whenever the toy becomes needless for your child, send it back and get something else. Billions of dollars are put into the children's toy market yearly, and of these, millions of unwanted toys are send to landfills every year. What is even worse is that a high amount of children's toys are produced from non-biodegradable plastic. By swapping instead of shopping, we can let our children play in a more eco-friendly way. We launched in Marts 2021 and spend more than a year to adapt and develop the concept to fit the market. Now we have had +1000 subscribers and expect to grow steady through the next year! Aside for daily operation and development of the platform and its features which is essential for us to be a scalable business. The idea started, when I, Dinesan, became father for the first time last year. We bought a lot of toys for our daughter (and still do), but in the end it showed that most of the toys our daughter didn't play with after a very short period - it was quite frustrating that we spend money of something, we either would loose money on reselling and would pile up together with the rest. Currently we are three people in the team: Dinesan Rasiah (Founder - CEO) Christian Nielsen Henriksen (Co-founder CTO) Nicolai Varney (CMO) Jannie Varaney (COO)

Tír Bakery

Tir Bakery is dedicated to stone milling and baking fresh with old biodiverse Danish grains grown in regenerative eco systems. Tir’s bread solves 2 important modern problems: - The effects of climate change: old varieties are able to adapt and develop into the changing environment. - The ill effects high gluten and chemically grown wheat is having on our health. Anders Borgen is a leading Danish wheat farmer who promotes biodiversity working towards the needs of the organic movement (https://www.arc2020.eu/anders-borgen-nurd-of-the-niche/): - Modern bread readily available today is high in gluten and low in nutrition. The modern grain is a genetically modified form of grain that is very high in gluten. This high gluten and low nutrition is making people sick. - Industrial millers also strip the grain of vital nutrients, removing the germ where the oils and nutrients reside, and the bran husk where the fibre is, leaving only the endosperm. - Stone-grinding the flour fresh retains all the nutrients in the flour and the bread. Once the flour is milled oxidation begins to take place and nutrients decrease fast. At Tir the flour is used straight from the mill retaining the highest nutritions and flavour: - The bread will be the highest nutritious bread in Denmark. - Tir Bakery has been collaborating with Birkemosegaard Biodynamic Seasonal Farm where the grain grows (March - October). The bread has been a huge success. During high season 150 breads sold out within a few hours a day. - Due to these farming and milling methods the distribution chain is a lot shorter which reduces the carbon footprint.

Lifeline Robotics A/S

We use robots to automate and democratize access to healthcare! The groundbreaking robot, Careebo, has been designed and developed by a team of robotics researchers at the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense, a city home to one of the world’s leading robotics clusters. The robot was developed as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the issues we suddenly faced as a global society. Clearly, we were not ready - we want to change that! The pandemic led to cross-infection between citizens and healthcare workers, low qualtiy samples due to inter-personal variability, and unequal access to basic healthcare such a swab sample. At Lifeline Robotics, we aim to enhance our pandemic preparedness and global health securty by utilizing automation and robotics to create a system which enables ongoing and implemented monitoring of what moves around in our societies. We envision, that this system can be implemented at strategic locations, so citizens can easily engage before travelling, attending big events or visiting vulnerable family.
