We design mobility aids for a person, not a patient. Mobility is one of the core values in modern life. It’s also a top challenge facing older adults; and adults with disabilities that have impacted their mobility and lifestyle. The current market for assistive walking devices has failed to adequately support this community, with ageist messages and outdated models that denote feelings of dependence and fragility – an inaccurate representation of today’s thriving older adult community. Since 2017, our mindful designs have won some of the world’s most prestigious awards in design and innovation, including the 2019 RedDot Design Award, the 2017 IF Design Award and the Danish Design Award, the title “Most Innovative Startup” by FedEx Europe in 2022 and German Design Award 2024. “by ACRE” is our quality seal. Two-sided online platform for repairing or modifying clothes. For users, we have made the process more convenient by having pre-set prices and availability to compare tailors. Currently, its a standard in the industry that customer goes to the shop with the piece of clothing and the price is negotiated. We wanted to make repairing clothes as easy as ordering new ones. For tailors, we improve their efficiency by reducing the amount of customer interaction and service needed - which can take up to half of the working time. Soon, we also enable hobbyists to make an extra income off their skills. With our venture, we aim to lengthen the lifespan of clothes and ultimately reduce the amount of textile waste and production.

The world of IT -infrastructure is moving towards containers, which enables great ideas to become great digitalized services quickly, reliably and systematically. While containerized software is becoming the form factor of choice for the IT industry, new technologies challenge how IT is consumed by enabling promising multi- and hybrid cloud solutions for cost benefits and agility. Our software tool provides predicted properties of (bio) chemicals based on data-driven algorithms and quantum chemistry, which helps to reduce the number of experiments in R&D. Every (bio)chemical process or product needs physico-chemical properties (e.g. solubility, density) data to simulate unit operations and flowsheets of chemical manufacturing processes. Also, the formulation of products such as more sustainable solvents or more efficient materials need property calculations for designing these products. Scientists and engineers at biotech companies usually fail to develop and simulate new processes and products because: (I) the experimental data for specific molecules are not available, (II) no physical property models have been developed for the desired compounds which give satisfiable predictions, (III) measurements are too time- and material-consuming to perform. MQS has developed a software which provides novel property prediction models based on machine learning and quantum chemistry (Figure 1), in which the input from experiments can be reduced or is negligible. Therefore the number of experiments, material, labour and time are saved which translates to reducing R&D costs in a 407 billion $ industry [1,2,3]. WAID marketplace will automatically match organizations with relevant and available personnel for their projects, facilitating volunteer exchange between organizations. This gives the volunteers the opportunity to contribute more frequently to varied projects. For the organizations, this means rapid matchmaking, increased capacity, and savings on recruitment and training costs.
