Why GEIST exists GEIST started from lived frustration. As a sailor and outdoor enthusiast, I repeatedly experienced how traditional sailing gear interrupted the very thing it was supposed to support—the feeling of being present, capable, and free on the water. Gear was either too stiff, too bulky, too aggressive, or simply not designed for how most people sail today. I realized this wasn’t a niche problem—it was systemic. And it wasn’t being solved because the industry hadn’t truly shifted its perspective.
