Tada Medical AB

Tada Medical is a spin-off from the Clinical Innovation Fellowships (CIF) programme born with the purpose of creating solutions for the unmet needs of hospitals across the globe. During the programme, the founders spent eight intense months at the Children’s department for Blood and Tumour diseases at the Uppsala University Children's Hospital. During this time, the pressing need to increase the safety of IV therapy for patients and healthcare professionals by preventing IV catheter dislodgement was identified and the breakaway concept behind the solution was developed. The company was founded in May 2016, and the team has, since that day, persistently fought to bring their first product ReLink® to the market. Intravenous (IV) therapy is the most common invasive treatment in the world received by 80% of in-hospital patients. Up to 36% of all IV tubes are accidentally ripped from the patient’s vein during treatment, resulting in consequences such as loss of medication, interrupted therapy, patient injury, and increased personnel workload. IV tubes cannot be reused and must be discarded if they are ripped out accidentally. This generates about 22,800 tons of plastic waste in Europe and the US per year. We have a patented, low-cost, simple to use safety solution to this massive global problem. Our innovation ReLink® is a breakaway connector to be placed on the IV tubes. It consists of two parts held together by a weak-link solution designed to release when the connector is subjected to a specific pull force. Double valves keep liquid from spilling when the parts are pulled apart. After separation, the parts can be cleaned and reconnected to rapidly reinstate therapy. The Tada core team includes an operational team of employees and interns as well as both inhouse consultants and advisors/investors who are all dedicated to our cause. Tada Medical has participated in exhibitions, trade fairs and pitch events and is an active member of several networks both in Sweden and in Europe. In the spring of 2020, Tada won the H2020 EIC Accelerator (961967) and were approved funding through the programme.

Movinn

Movinn is founded in 2014 and is a group of companies engaged in the real estate industry. Our core business is renting out Serviced Apartments in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Odense. To support and automate our core operations, we have developed several tech-products that are already live (integrated frontend, backend management systems, access systems, applications etc.). Now, we looking to expand our tech-capabilities to make an exciting push towards new markets and business ventures.  We are a mix of seasoned suits and young guns. We have visions (and to some extent delusions of grandeur), but we use this to constantly think of new ways to push our business development into areas our competitors can only dream of. We experience set-backs one day and achieve great results the next. And we have fun while we are at it.

The PERE narrative We set out to fix a fairness problem that’s plagued the hospitality industry for as long as most can remember. And if we don’t fix it - right now - it might very well result in the complete erosion of how we think about the hospitality business today. Have we got your attention? Great! Let’s start with restaurants, who still reward local businesses for referring guests in ways that are beyond outdated. Offering things like free drinks, meals and under-the-table cash payments are not only unsustainable, they’re eschewed by those receiving them and largely frowned upon by regulatory bodies. What restaurants need is a more effective and modern way to get butts in seats and reward loyal referrers. And reliable, personal referrals from higher-spending guests have never been in greater demand for the beleaguered restaurant industry. Even before the pandemic, food delivery was slowly upending restaurants by forcing them to pay absurdly high commissions for customers on what are already razor thin margins. Even more, restaurants are now pressured to change their businesses to serve take-away and delivery customers instead of the more profitable (and real) dine-in customers, which is why almost all chefs and restaurateurs got into the business to begin with. At the same time, hotels - responsible for sending restaurants a steady flow of personal referrals - are forced to fork out big bucks just to get guests to their properties, much of that going to online travel agencies who charge up to 30% commissions for referrals. With profits shrinking, you’d think that hotels could simply recover those earnings when they refer their guests to nearby businesses. If they’re paying when they receive a guest referral, shouldn’t they be paid when they make a guest referral? That seems fair. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. That’s because today, the hospitality referral model is a broken, one-way street with no quick and easy way for people to profit when they make a personal referral. That includes especially hotel concierges, whose entire existence is founded on the ability to provide quality referrals. Feeling increasingly overlooked, undervalued and under appreciated in a digital world, they’re eager for an easier and better way to re-stake their claim and profit from sending guests to local businesses. That’s why we think it’s time for a change - a new and more fair way to do business in the hospitality industry. What’s long been accepted as a one-way street for paying for referrals needs to be expanded into a multilane highway where everyone can profit from personal referrals. Food waste is a massiv problem all over the world. United Nations says that if food waste was a country, it’d be the number 3 global greenhouse gas emitter. Akla wants to change this! Akla is a food saver app! With Akla food outlets can reduce their food waste and at the same time increase their profit. Consumers on the other hand browse the Akla app to find great offers nearby and 50% discount. Akla works primarily out of the Gulf where food waste is among the worst in the world.  We the Akla team are seasoned digital entrepreneurs with more than one failed startup under our belt. We like to work agile and expect everyone to take ownership of what they do. As a digital startup we also strongly believe that an office is just an address, so working remote for us is more than OK.

Jolla

Jolla Ltd., the mobile company from Finland, is the developer of Sailfish OS, the open mobile operating system. The first Sailfish OS mobile product, the Jolla Smartphone, was first introduced in November 2013 and it is currently available in Europe, Hong Kong, India and Russia. In November 2014 Jolla introduced the Jolla Tablet project, and in Q3/2015 Jolla announced the first major licensing partner for Sailfish OS, Intex Technologies.

For advertisers, Allva creates completely new opportunities by offering contextual marketing to a pre-segmented target group that is in a buying state of mind. And with our existing concept for weddings, over 3000 users have already shown us that people need help planning their events.
