SparkUp Turku

SparkUp is a startup community where Turku Science Park Ltd, student based entrepreneurship society Boost Turku and Creative Venture Creve have brought together their know-how and services for startups and entrepreneur-minded persons in Turku region. SparkUp is facilitated by Turku Science Park Ltd.

Empower

We were founded in February 2018 with the idea that giving plastic a value, we could get it removed from nature. A bit like the bottle deposit system, but for all kinds of plastic! We have gained amazing traction since we started, from being featured in Forbes and The Independent and invited to a panel at the first OECD forum on Blockchain to winning awards and being the only Nordic initiative among the 25 development projects/ SDG solutions selected to be showcased at Expo 2021 Dubai’s Global Best Practice Programme. We have done cleanups and pilots in more than 15 countries, proving that this really does work! Now we are building a global plastic waste ecosystem to incentivize cleanup and track where the plastic ends - most of it ideally back to reuse! The next step is to bring our vision to more places and create a truly innovative system than can help solve some of the big problems with plastic waste (of which there are more than you might imagine).

Seastate 7

From the center in the Norwegian maritime cluster, Seastate 7 has the advantage of being close to our customers, collaborating partners and day-to-day users in our quest to innovate the ultimate system solution to relevant difficulties in the industry. The ocean made us who we are, and we make systems to handle it. We know the ocean, and we use our knowledge to protect it. Seastate 7 creates values for our customers in form of increased safety, sustainability and savings in operation. Smart Aqua We work with the industry, for the industry towards the future. Seastate 7 has made a new solution for the aqua industry to cope with many of the issues that they are facing at present time. We are harvesting the ideas and solutions that is already in use, making new products and improving and implementing them in a new way and a total package that is leaning towards the future. Let's call it Aqua 4.0. For the years to come!

Cirqle Biomedical

Our mission is to create a contraceptive technology that renders hormonal birth control obsolete. We are addressing the millions of women that are demanding non-hormonal products with fewer side-effects to manage their fertility. Today, nearly 60 years after the first oral contraceptive pill was sold, most prescription birth control methods are variations on the same synthetic hormones. In collaboration with the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, we have developed a technology that reinforces the natural barrier properties of cervical mucus. The principle of the technology is to use topically-applied biopolymers to make cervical mucus impenetrable to sperm cells throughout the menstrual cycle. Our approach enables a potentially groundbreaking product that protects within a minute and for extended periods without the systemic side-effects known from hormonal contraceptives. In 2019 we raised $1.8M for pre-clinical development. Today we are incubated at the BioInnovation Institute, conveniently located in central Copenhagen, with access to state-of-the-art labs.

Buildright

Buildright is developing an AI intelligence layer for construction projects to help contractors and project teams solve invisible risk — by turning the data already generated on every project into actionable insights before problems become costs. The problem hiding in plain sight Construction is broken. 85% of large projects finish over budget. Rework accounts for 9% of total project cost. Delays cost $280bn annually in North America alone. The signals that predict these outcomes already exist — in meeting notes, deviation logs, change orders, and task lists. But no one sees them in time to act. Risk only becomes visible after it has already cost you. This affects every contractor, project manager, site foreman, and HSE officer on every project — in an industry that represents trillions in global economic activity. From raw data to the right decision Buildright connects the data already generated on construction projects and surfaces the right insight to the right person — at every level of the organisation. Project directors get cross-project risk visibility to see which projects need attention before they escalate. PMs, HSE managers, and quality leads get role-specific dashboards with the decisions they need to make, surfaced daily. Site crews get targeted microlearning triggered automatically when a risk pattern is detected — before the next shift starts. But we go beyond insights. Buildright also automates the everyday tasks that consume project teams — generating alerts when something needs attention, and producing artifacts like meeting packs, reports, and change-order traces automatically. The result is not just better visibility, but a meaningfully more efficient project team. We're live in production with AF Gruppen and Betonmast, two of Norway's largest contractors. 100,000+ deviations, tasks, and meeting notes analysed — with a confirmed 10x ROI from our pilots. The urge to solve a global problem Lars Gaustad spent years at the top of the construction industry — and watched the same story play out over and over. Projects bleeding money. Deadlines slipping. AuroraDelta

AuroraDelta is a Finland–Bangladesh innovation platform that builds multiple impact‑driven projects under one umbrella – from waste management and circular economy to smart ports, logistics, renewable energy, technology and skills development. Our goal is to connect Finnish expertise and financing with Bangladeshi growth sectors, creating commercially viable solutions that also deliver strong social and environmental impact. At this stage AuroraDelta is a pre‑startup initiative led by a Bangladeshi founder living in Finland, with experience in grassroots entrepreneurship, cross‑border business, and community leadership. We already have a portfolio of 6–7 project concepts, where waste management is only the first pilot, alongside ideas in port development, shipping, textiles, tech, renewable energy and financial inclusion. We are now looking for a mission‑aligned co‑founder who can help shape AuroraDelta into a real company: validating which projects to prioritize, building partnerships in Finland and Bangladesh, and preparing for funding. A strong fit could bring skills in business development, fundraising, impact investing, operations, or sector expertise (waste/circular economy, logistics, ports and shipping, energy, or digital platforms). You should be comfortable working in a very early‑stage, high‑uncertainty environment, co‑creating the vision, and taking ownership of pilots and investor outreach.

Reduzer

Carbon Footprint Tool for the Construction Industry Making accurate emission understanding accessible to all, empowering even non-experts to confidently own carbon reduction decisions from early-stage to project completion. On a mission to accelerate sustainable construction the story Founded in 2021, Reduzer was started with a mission to accelerate sustainable construction and help the industry make better decisions - earlier in the project. We truly believe that good, sustainable choices can be made across all phases of a project, but the earlier the better. Based on research from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Reduzer is now an emerging software for carbon calculations across the construction industry and is trusted by more than 70 customers across the Nordics. The software is used widely in many construction projects, spanning from developer and architects to consultants and contractors. In 2025, Reduzer secured a financing round led by Momentum Partners, Futurum Ventures and Construct Venture - with the aim to continue developing the platform and enable more sustainable construction. We are a team of 15 dedicated people with a passion for sustainability and for making it accessible to everyone through smart software solutions. Our headquarters are located in Oslo.

Ampy

Today Swedish households has lost 10 million SEK on failed handyman services. This happens 365 days a year. Where 8% of all reports to the Swedish Consumer Agency concern contractor services - clear evidence of a market in crisis. By combining AI, customer obsession and extreme intensity Ampy is not only becoming one of the fastest growing service groups in the Nordics, but also saving an industry that has been in decline for the past 30 years. Our solution is to build the largest electrician group in the nordics while being manically focused on our customer in each detail. We're currently a team of A-players in 4 countries and are growing for every week.

Nyx Systems ApS

Nyx is a cloud-based nightclub management platform designed to streamline operations for venues and enhance the nightlife experience for guests. It offers a suite of tools including membership management, table booking, ticket sales, and guest list handling, all integrated into a single system. For venues, Nyx provides a comprehensive suite of features to manage daily operations efficiently. The platform allows for the creation of custom membership systems, enabling venues to offer unique perks and engage with their audience through push notifications, emails, or text messages. The table booking system offers a visual overview of the venue, handling orders, payments, credits, and bookings, all integrated with the membership system to provide a seamless experience. The ticket system facilitates the sale of event tickets or regular covers, with integration into the members app for a consistent user experience. For guests, Nyx serves as a digital wallet for nightclub membership cards, allowing users to discover clubs, register using their Nyx account, obtain memberships, buy tickets, and stay updated on events and news from their favorite venues. Nyx's flexible pricing model caters to venues of all sizes, with a starting price of €29 per month, and additional costs based on the number of members and active logins. The platform is available on both iOS and Android, ensuring accessibility for all users. With over 200 venues and more than 400,000 registered members, Nyx is redefining the way nightclubs manage their operations and connect with their audience.

We’re building the operating system for modern golf clubs. GolfMore helps clubs run smarter, sell more, and deliver an excellent experience for members and guests - from the driving range to the simulator room and everything in between. Our story GolfMore grew out of Probox24, a self-service vending solution tightly integrated with national tee-sheet booking systems. What started as a single product is now a suite of connected software and hardware that powers daily operations at golf clubs. Today, GolfMore serves clubs across 18 countries, from small local clubs to large, prestigious venues.
