Estrid

Estrid is Scandinavia’s first female razor brand. Despite our relatively recent launch, we have made a HUGE splash (sorry, we had to use that word) in the world of branding and direct-to-consumer e-commerce and are now one of Sweden's fastest scaling startups. Our investors include some of the most noteworthy in Sweden and we are prepared to take over the world.

Diwala

Diwala is a Norwegian-based company that is focused on building opportunities for youth, addressing the global issue of identity theft and certification fraud. Today, displaced individuals and people in emerging markets are challenged by high costs and slow manual processes to verify the authenticity of their skills, identity and credentials. As a result, these individuals have to deal with tedious and out-dated credentialing processes, and are in some cases forced to repeat years of education. This leads to both loss of productivity and inflated unemployment. Imagine that you had to flee your own home because of war. Like Aıscha Najjar, a Syrian doctor turned refugee immigrated to the United States to pursue her dream of work & a safe home. Yet, due to loss of information, she was forced to repeat medical school in the United States. If she had a verifiable skill identity, she might have had the privilege of practicing medicine without any questions. Aıscha`s story amongst others epitomizes the challenge Diwala is addressing. To tackle this challenge, Diwala has created a platform that enables schools and NGOs to issue skill-based identities, backed by blockchain technology. A skill-ID is a digitally verified record of a person’s educational and work history. Diwala is building an ecosystem of trust, by enabling educational institutions and organizations to safely and digitally issue and verify credentials. This will, in turn, save all parties time, money and build a bridge for global work opportunities for untapped talent. Complementing the platform, Diwala has built an app that allows students to easily receive, store and share credentials of both soft and hard skills. By utilizing a decentralized identity management tool, Diwala’s application will also give people ownership of their data information. Diwala is currently executing pilots regularly, to optimize the features and security of the platform in both Kenya and Uganda. Working with their implementation partner Clarke University in Kampala, Diwala recently issued the first set of skill-identities to both students and administrators. These are the first ever digitally verified certificates backed by decentralized identity and blockchain in Africa

Entrepedia

Entrepedia AS is a "not for profit" company, set up as a subsidiary for the investment company Firda. Best practices, documents, templates, etc. from the portfolio companies will be made available for everyone through the soon to be released Entrepedia platform. Our purpose is to support founders and company builders to set up a good company from the start and further provide advice through the journey, and so increase the chances of new Norwegian successes and industry. BluSense Diagnostics ApS

BluSense Diagnostics is a young and dynamic MedTech company, a spin-off in 2015 from the Technical University of Denmark. The company is developing a point-of-care blood testing device for infectious diseases, such as dengue and Zika.BluSense has a team of highly skilled professionals bringing together expertise in areas encompassing microfluidics, biochemistry, electronics, optics, nanotechnology, computing and product design.

Scoutbase

Scoutbase is a tool that helps shipping companies become safer, more productive and generally better workplaces.In a nutshell, we do this by helping companies understand what makes daily work and life on a ship difficult for their crews.Right now we are focused on the maritime industry and on making life at sea safer for the 1.6 million seafarers out there. But we are exploring opportunities for using our technology to tackle the same lack of data in other industries.

Utilising data, behavioural economics and great UI, we make pension a fun, intuitive and exhilarating experience. We focus on eliminating friction and increasing motivation to drive customer engagement, increase cost-efficieny and sales for pension companies, banks and brokers.

Duunitori Oy

Duunitori is a Finnish job board and recruiting media, that gathers all the job ads in one place. Duunitori manages hundreds of communities in social media and on partner sites, delivering useful career advice and thousands of jobs to the relevant audiences. Last year our sales grew almost 200% and we are continuing on the same track. Our customers include Finnair, Valio, Nordea, Elisa, Accenture, Lidl etc.

PayQin

Making online payments and transactions simple for unbanked.In Europe, E-commerce companies and consumers can't make online transactions with people in emerging countries because they don't cater for mobile money which causes a mismatch of payment methods.PayQin is an e-wallet app designed for emerging countries, connected to a physical/virtual debit card that accepts local payment method.
