Gate2Horizon

Gate2Horizon is a new company, which leverages the experience of its employees in the domain of so-called "exploitation of project results" in large EU-funded Research & Innovation projects (under the Horizon Europe - Pillar II funding programme). We work across diverse sectors such as Bioeconomy, Circular Economy, Mining, Aquaculture, and Health Policy. As part of the consortium in the EU projects, we assist project partners in the exploitation of their project results with a hands-on approach and tools to make sure the results coming out of the project are "exploited" at the end of the project's lifetime, that is "made us of to tackle societal problems, in policymaking or for commercial purposes". In the initial phase, we identify and characterize results and their potential owners. We thereafter monitor them and select the ones with the most potential, which we nurture throughout the project lifetime with the help of our tools and services.​ We do it through: - conducting workshops on different commercial and entrepreneurial topics - holding individual coaching sessions with project partners - using credible methodologies such as the Value Proposition, Business Model Canvas, EC's Innovation Radar In a nutshell, we exploit the project results and help them on their journey towards market-ready and standalone businesses or we connect them to partners that can help with further research and development toward market readiness.

Derfor skabte grundlægger Mille Skjold Madsen for fire år siden Økonomista så vi kunne få et samlingspunkt for al den viden, som vi skal bruge for at skabe de bedste forudsætninger for vores penge. Kupla ApS

”We want to transform the way we seek out and receive information.” Kupla is an AI-based media platform. The AI software collects data across all news sites in Denmark 24/7, thereby creating a fully encompassing news platform that can solve a lot of problems for companies and brands. The platform features useful tools which include a news search engine, surveillance of keywords, a variety of search functions to provide a fast and purposeful news overview, and much, much more. kupla.io not only provides our users with insight and access to all news sites in Denmark, all in one place. It is also a contribution to change the way companies look at news. “News articles are published in unfathomable numbers, on more platforms than ever.” Kupla is contributing to advancing a purposeful and insightful news overview, detached from algorithms, click bait and hidden agendas. Our mission is to provide media transparency, which has all but disappeared today. When searching on Google or clicking on a news site, one often wonders: Why are these articles shown? Is it because of algorithms? Click bait? Hidden agendas? – or actual relevance? Is it original journalism or reposted content from somewhere else? Our platform empowers our users by providing them with the ability to navigate in the news without questioning any of the above. “The news are a societal phenomenon that we can learn a lot from.“ The infrastructure we are building for our AI models is unique in the way it has the capacity to manage and store information about the whole world of media. The structuring of news data allows us to explore the societal phenomenon that news are. By enabling our AI models to learn more about the news, we are teaching AI’s about human society as a whole. This advances the quality of AI technology. “We want to be the best at utilizing AI-models and suit them to our purposes.“ We are building the technological infrastructure in which current and future AI-models of the highest caliber can perform at their best. Our infrastructure will be able to cater not just one or two, but hundreds of AI-models. We plan to use existing – and future – AI-systems, wipe them clean and adjust them to our purposes. This includes ensuring that new AI-models will inherit the knowledge and memories from the previous ones. In doing so, we believe we will become more agile than our competitors. Our product: Kupla consolidates news stories from all media sources into one single, accessible news site. Our platform empowers the users by giving them complete freedom of choice, enabling them to navigate the entire media landscape fast and easy and monitor keywords of interest to them. Our AI’s will also analyze the behavior of news publishers, enabling our users to gain more in depth insight into their media presence: timelines: how frequently a company/brand is mentioned the nature of the publicity (positive or negative) early warnings regarding potential media storms geographical data: in what areas are people talking about your company/brand Our message is simple. We have created a tool based on artificial intelligence that can solve a lot of problems for companies – and change the way we use the internet. TUMling

TUMling is a groundbreaking IT solution, created to revolutionize the documentation process in daycare facilities. With an advanced integration of artificial intelligence and computer vision, TUMling automates and simplifies the collection and analysis of data from daily activities. This frees up educators' time from extensive paperwork, allowing them to immerse themselves in direct interaction with the children, thus improving the working environment, enhancing the quality of childcare. A significant pain point in the industry is the burden of documentation, which often feels meaningless and too complex, as well as it stands in the way of educators' core tasks. This issue has led to high stress, sick leave, and industry exodus, which harms both the professionals and the children they care for. TUMling directly addresses this by transforming the documentation process into a quick and meaningful task, taking as little as 30 seconds per day. Competitors primarily focus on retrospective documentation, where educators must set aside time to reflect over long periods. TUMling, on the other hand, integrates documentation into daily work, actively and effectively utilizing photo documentation, instead of the current practice where thousands of photos are rarely fully utilized. The economic advantage is clear: TUMling could potentially save over 144 million Danish kroner annually with nationwide implementation, based on a weekly time saving of one hour per preschool classroom. With 260,000 children in Danish daycare facilities, and competitors' prices of about 250 kroner per child per year, TUMling faces a Danish market of 65 million kroner annually. TUMling was founded in the fall of 2023 by me, Stefan Steinmejer. I am a former bachelor-educated preschool teacher, who has now further educated myself and will complete a MSc in Information Technology, Specializing in ICT, Learning and Organizational Change, in the summer of '24. I also have two children who attend a private preschool institution, where I have served on the board for 2 years. The foundation of TUMling is thus a combination of professional insight, technological innovation, board experience, and a problem that strikes right into both my educator heart and my father heart. With a prototype developed in 2023, TUMling is now in the software development phase, and is actively seeking partners who can fully program the solution. The plan is to enter agreements with the private market in 2024 and launch sales in 2025. In the longer term, the goal is to expand to the public and international markets. TUMling represents a visionary approach to a persistent problem in the daycare sector, offering a solution that not only saves time and money but also improves the work environment for the preschool teachers, but more importantly the quality of care for the children in our society.
