We’ve just closed a €4M seed round led by Cherry Ventures (plus top EU angels) and are assembling the founding team that will turn Kiku from clever prototype into a category-defining product.

Doubble

Something is wrong with how we meet new people. Meeting new people is supposed to be exciting, spontaneous and fun. Yet, datings apps have turned it into a monotonous routine. All dating apps claim to be different, but they are essentially all a speed dating game played in solo mode with a pool of strangers. It’s a game of swipe, match and “hey, what’s up” chats that rarely lead anywhere. Sometimes you miraculously get past the boring smalltalk, dodge the ghosting and actually meet! But more often than not, the date you “won” feels like a boring coffee interview. We deserve better than that. That’s why we are creating a different experience of meeting new people. What if instead of playing this speed dating game by yourself, you are playing together with your friends. Instead of the coffee date interview, it’s more like going to a spontaneous party with your close friends and bumping into a crush. If we can bring our vision for this social network to life, a spontaneous adventure of meeting new people with your friends will always be just a few clicks away.

dibz.se

The founders of dibz.se struggled with the housing shortage in Sweden. Therefore, they took up the fight to make digital waitlists accessible to the people, starting with Swedish housing waitlists. The vision is to do the same for all markets with an imbalance between supply and demand, worldwide, independent of waitlists. dibz launched the platform dibz.se in July 2021. The platform currently covers all housing waitlists in Sweden, from Kiruna to Ystad. Enabling our customers to maximise their opportunities for a firsthand rental contract by utilising cloud computing, robotic process automation (RPA), UX/UI, and an agile approach. The journey has just begun, and we are now looking to expand the product into more areas that need digital infrastructure improvements. We will erase the information privileges that exists, helping people around the globe to make future proof decision. For example, it isn’t fair that a child’s possibility to play guitar is based on the child’s parents’ knowledge of a hidden waitlist that the child needs be in from the date of birth. We are driving change. There are better ways to distribute services and goods more efficient and fairer. dibz.se will be the go-to platform for goods and services with matching market characteristics where price simply can’t clear the market. dibz will serve both B2B and B2C, making the future brighter step by step.

The company is co-founded by and backed by academics from the University of Helsinki. Hubb Kitchens

Hubb is the leading Nordic chain of virtual restaurants — kitchens built from the ground up specifically for food delivery. We serve more than 100,000 customers yearly across all our locations in Greater Copenhagen, with sales reaching DKK +50 million annually and turning profits. We've raised more than DKK 30 million from investors. Who are we and what do we do? We're a team of ambitious founders who have built start-ups before, with prior experience from both the food delivery industry, tech, and in the high-culinary world of Michelin restaurants. We run small, efficient, delivery-only kitchens with no tables, waiters, or front-of-house staff. Around 80% of our orders are delivered and 20% picked up, through platforms like Wolt and Uber Eats, where we are one of the largest brands. Our food is developed by Michelin-trained chefs across four of the most popular take-away categories — burgers, fried chicken, Greek gyros, and Asian bao buns — which customers can mix in a single order, all engineered to still taste great after a 20-minute delivery. Great food, built to be delivered. We deliver consistently excellent, delivery-first food: 500,000+ orders served to date, 80%+ repeat purchases, and an 8.8/10 rating across 50,000+ reviews, twice named Denmark's highest-rated restaurant on Wolt. The problem we solve: most restaurant food is designed for the dining room, not the doorstep, so it arrives late, soggy, and inconsistent — while the restaurants making it lose money to delivery's high commissions and operational complexity. At the same time, independent restaurateurs sit with half-empty kitchens, with capacity they cannot monetise properly to turn a profit. Hubb fixes both sides. We operate our own kitchens, and we partner with restaurants that operate a virtual Hubb venue from their existing kitchens. We turn their idle capacity into profit with a turnkey virtual brand — we give them our proven menus, recipes, suppliers, on-site staff training, and branded packaging — while we run the platforms, marketing, and support. They simply cook. Now, we're looking to scale to become the biggest virtual take-away brand across food delivery platforms in the Nordics, with ambitions to open a virtual restaurant in every city and local area with food delivery platforms serving customers. Material Exchange is a unique B2B platform that works with leading footwear and apparel brands to digitalize the material sourcing processes. Global restrictions on travel and a shift to digitalization has accelerated the need for digital material data. Material Exchange has a comprehensive library of materials that are required by brands to develop and produce footwear, apparel and accessories. The Material Exchange database is a highly secure vault containing approximately 40,000 digital materials from some of the largest material suppliers in the world including, Clarino, Tiong Liong Corp, Kuraray and over 350 more. Material Exchange brand customers include Ariat, Keen, Caleres, Steve Madden, Deckers Brands, Global Brands Group and many more. By leveraging the platform brands can reduce sourcing costs, improve product development timelines and reduce supply chain risks. The platform supports suppliers in better connecting to their brand customers and enables them to find opportunities for new business.
