Available solutions that may provide owner-independent mental workout are low-tech products made out of wood, plastic, cloth or a combination. They are typically about moving or pushing or clawing at something to find or release a hidden treat. They are not giving any instructions or feedback and they have no progression - so they are usually either too easy or too difficult. If too easy, the dog does not get a whole lot of mental workout - and if too difficult the dog tends to give up fast, and hence does still not get the desired mental workout.
