Electricity Maps provides actionable electricity data for more than 200 regions. We help businesses more effectively reduce their emissions, and enable products and services to differentiate their offerings by empowering end-users to be more carbon-aware. As wind and solar production fluctuate throughout the day, this information needs to be dynamic and updated in real-time. As this real-time information about the physical origin of electricity will be scrutinized and challenged by many parties, the effort has to be collaborative, open, and transparent. This is what motivated the creation of Electricity Maps. It started as a simple real-time data visualization in June 2016 and turned into a comprehensive data platform with high scientific integrity. More than 40,000 people use our app on a daily basis and market leaders like Google and Microsoft, are using our API for extensive projects in order to reach their climate goals and help their users take action against climate change. Our goal: a truly decarbonized electricity system. To get there, we will organize the world's electricity information, and use it to drive the transition toward a truly decarbonized electricity system.

Matrikel1 is the  innovation House on Højbro Plads in the very center of Copenhagen. We opened in May and it has been fast pace ever since. It is the focal point for investors, entrepreneurs, creators and disruptive business in Denmark. Specifically, Matrikel1 provides high-end event space, bar&cafe, flexible work space, lounge and offices. We actively work with and create network across all of above.

Our mission is to create a contraceptive technology that renders hormonal birth control obsolete. We are addressing the millions of women that are demanding non-hormonal products with fewer side-effects to manage their fertility. Today, nearly 60 years after the first oral contraceptive pill was sold, most prescription birth control methods are variations on the same synthetic hormones. In collaboration with the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, we have developed a technology that reinforces the natural barrier properties of cervical mucus. The principle of the technology is to use topically-applied biopolymers to make cervical mucus impenetrable to sperm cells throughout the menstrual cycle. Our approach enables a potentially groundbreaking product that protects within a minute and for extended periods without the systemic side-effects known from hormonal contraceptives. In 2019 we raised $1.8M for pre-clinical development. Today we are incubated at the BioInnovation Institute, conveniently located in central Copenhagen, with access to state-of-the-art labs.

Alice makes personalized learning accessible for students and teachers using the latest in AI. More than 50,000 students across the world have already used Alice. In 2025 we joined Y Combinator’s W25 batch in San Francisco, and we raised almost $6m to scale. Though still small, our team punches above its weight – with backgrounds from Top Universities, McKinsey, PhDs in Machine Learning, 10+ years of teaching, and even Denmark’s top high school GPA. Conceiving through donation is often a complicated, highly regulated, time consuming, impersonal and expensive process. Because of this many future parents and donors go to the private market, however the current solutions in place are chaotic, low quality and lack safety. Y factor is working to remove the majority of these barriers. We have built an app that provides a transparent, accessible, and personal way for people to achieve their family dreams through peer to peer sperm donation, connecting future parents with donors. We make it possible to reduce our amounts of industrial waste, by turning waste material streams into business opportunities. Our material database displays leftover materials from production, giving developers easy access to reusable materials, also called "New Waste". Hereby, achieving a significantly lower CO₂ footprint than with virgin materials. When circulating New Waste materials with the THE UPCYCL, we also offer to monitor CO₂ savings. Founded in 2019, in a bid to standardize robotics with state-of-the-art software, RiACT is a fast-growing startup based in Copenhagen. We provide a universal operating system for industrial robots as the interface between robotic hardware and intelligent robot applications. We're creating a digital study abroad start-up that aims to increase mobility by boosting the encouragement among students within higher education to study abroad. Another motivation for the project was the Danish government's goal of sending 50% of students within higher education abroad to incorporate an international dimension into their danish study program. Given the tools provided by the Government, we aim to educate, consult and help students go take a semester abroad to develop their personal profile.
