byACRE was founded in Copenhagen, the heart of Scandinavian’s design hub, with a mission to break down the stigma related to reduced mobility and to help those it serves maintain an active lifestyle without compromise. We design mobility aids for a person, not a patient. Mobility is one of the core values in modern life. It’s also a top challenge facing older adults; and adults with disabilities that have impacted their mobility and lifestyle. The current market for assistive walking devices has failed to adequately support this community, with ageist messages and outdated models that denote feelings of dependence and fragility – an inaccurate representation of today’s thriving older adult community. Since 2017, our mindful designs have won some of the world’s most prestigious awards in design and innovation, including the 2019 RedDot Design Award, the 2017 IF Design Award and the Danish Design Award, the title “Most Innovative Startup” by FedEx Europe in 2022 and German Design Award 2024. “by ACRE” is our quality seal. It’s rooted in the words ‘Active’ and ‘Re-Habitare’ – the Latin word for Back to Life.

LastObject is dedicated to creating sustainable alternatives to single-use items. We've created LastSwab (alternative to cotton swabs), LastTissue (alternative to kleenex), LastRound (alternative to cotton rounds), and LastPad (alternative to menstrual pads). We always aim to make products that are 10x more sustainable than the single-use products they replace. LastObject’s mission is to reduce and eliminate single-use products. Our main focus is to identify single-use items that needlessly damage our environment. Our aim is to reduce waste. When we started, our idea was to do produce something good for the environment and being three designers it made sense to use those skills and design something that works as replacements for something that is damaging the environment.

We strive to grow into a battery factory that builds high-quality, high-performance batteries for demanding applications. We source the best cells from our partners, and cover the module assembly, housing, and battery management part of the value chain. We have design, manufacturing, and maintenance in-house. We want to run the whole business from Norway, betting on automation instead of cheap labour, quality over quantity, reliability over price, local over foreign. We work with Oslo Kommune, Hesselberg Truck AS, Bolt, Buddy Bikes, and various other companies. We are looking to start a large research project in co-operation with UiO in the near future. We are 2 people and 5 3D-printers working full time at the moment.

Background The 2014 winter Olympics in Sochi is unfortunately known for a huge doping scandal, creating a debate on how to increase the secure chain of custody within in the anti-doping industry. Validicity AB was initiated by the Arne Ljungqvist Foundation to actively combat anti-doping in human sports, by developing a new hardware solution combined with a blockchain-based system creating a secure supply chain (https://www.arneljungqvist.com/). A team of experts was brought together with deep knowledge in their respective field in order to solve this challenge and develop the future chain of custody in anti-doping. The first market segment of the company is for doping control in human sports, followed by an equestrian sports segment. A third segment will be solutions addressing work-place testing operations. Expanding the system, Validicity can basically serve any vertical that needs a secure supply chain such as pharma, food, toxic waste and high-end goods. Since the company was founded in the beginning of February 2018, a first functional prototype has been developed, a European patent application has been filed and parts of the team attended the WADA conference initiating talks with potential customers and partners. Business Idea Validicity offers a solution for a complete secure chain of custody combining a digital solution (NFC, Block-chain & Cloud storage technology) with a mechanical device (bottle / bottle tops / packaging) creating a transparent and tamper-proof system.

Counting Hero AS was established in September 2019 and is currently running development projects. We have our first pilots in deployment. Organization count 3 persons.
