Venture Factory

VENTURE FACTORYVenture Factory was founded in the fall of 2012 in Oslo, Norway with a straightforward goal: turning ideas into business. Our core competence is e-commerce, technology, and performance marketing. We use our skills to start new companies together with strategic partners, other entrepreneurs, or within our own organization. Since then we’ve involved ourselves in a range of ideas. Some have blossomed and turned into prosperous businesses, while others have been challenging and ultimately put to rest. We believe our understanding of technology and online marketing combined with a unique domain insight is the recipe for success and therefore we partner up with entrepreneurs or larger corporations to pursue new business opportunities. Our portfolio consists of a mix of businesses. Some are consultancies where external clients benefit from our competence and others are tech or e-commerce ventures that we have started alone or together with partners. Do you have a great idea you want to discuss with us? Please email us at contact@venturefactory.noVenture Factory offices are located centrally in Oslo and our development team is located in Odesa, Ukraine. We are always on the lookout for great talent both in Odessa and Oslo, so email us at contact@venturefactory.no if you think you are a good match.

Connecting Grounds ApS

Connecting Grounds is a food start-up based in Aarhus that up-cycles spent coffee grounds (a.k.a. coffee waste) into a food ingredient for B2B snack and confectionary companies and restaurants. Why do we do it? 1. Environment Spent coffee grounds are often treated as waste. Think about how many cups of coffee you or the people around you drink per day. All the coffee waste from drinking coffee adds to the Greenhouse Gas Emissions. 2. Nutritional Value When we brew our cup of coffee, we are only taking advantage of 1% of coffee's nutrients. 99% of these nutrients stay in the spent coffee grounds. These nutrients include caffeine, dietary fibre, proteins and valuable minerals. What we do is change the narrative behind hidden food waste by starting with coffee by-products. By up-cycling such a product, we evert emissions, take advantage of our resources and raise awareness on the importance of up-cycling. Rethinking food is what we do, and we will not stop with coffee by-products. We will continue to search for resources/ingredients that have the potential of being reintroduced in the food stream, again.

Waylog

Waylog helps leading eCommerce and DTC brands grow faster by unlocking capital stuck in the supply chain. Every single eCommerce business has experienced cash flow issues at some point and most experience it all the time. It keeps them from growing at the pace they could. We help them by bridging the gap in their cash conversion cycle through fast, convenient and on-demand inventory financing. It means they can free cash stuck in the supply chain and spend it on other (more fun) things, or place larger orders with their suppliers and thus negotiate better deals. Big Banks don't care much about small businesses, at Waylog we want to give everyone access to the same supply chain financing solutions as the big players have always had access to.

We have big ambitions for the future of Yulsn, but in contrast to other SaaS companies in our industry, are we bootstrapped and have no plans soon for taking any money or investments from third parties. Our mission is to make a difference and impact for our clients, to be an attractive workplace for our employees and to be engaged in communities we would like to support. After a restructuring of our company in October 2020, when we suffered a loss after bankruptcy in the travel industry, we are again in a stable and very healthy growth.

Follow us for insight into hiring trends, specialist recruitment and how future-focused industries compete for talent. 💚

3byggetilbud.dk A/S

We are passionate reinventing how homeowners and skilled builders find each other. In the past, if you needed building work done on your home, you would have to rely on word-of-mouth or hope that someone you know could recommend a good builder. 3byggetilbud.dk changed all that by creating a marketplace where homeowners can post their jobs and then the platform matches the best three builders for that specific job. This means that you can be sure to find a builder who is not only reputable but also has the skills and experience to do the job well. Our commitment to innovation has made us the market leader for Danish homeowners and builders alike.

Hint Technology

Just living on earth these last couple of years has been exhausting and guess what, spending 100 hours just trying to find something to watch is not really what we are in the mood for at the end of yet another day in covid/war/climate crisis-times or any time for that matter. Streaming platforms are undeserving their users' need for a fast and uncomplicated path to discovery. Disney+, Apple TV+, NBC Universal’s Peacock, Warner Media’s HBO Max were all launched between November 2019 and May 2020, paving the way for what media calls the ‘Streaming War’. Needless to say the competition has become tougher over the last couple of years. In order to attract new users the content on each respective platform doesn’t seem to be the main trigger for people anymore, but rather the platform's algorithmic technology. Meaning how the content is organised, how accessible it is and the way it is presented on the platform. These algorithms are also called a ‘sociotechnical process’ by scientists and have over the last decade emerged as a crucial part of shaping our culture and personal taste through complex relationships between human and non-human players. We spend hours of our lives scrolling through these different platforms trying to find something we’d like to watch. Research suggests we spend 100 hours per year for an average user to be exact, only on Netflix. That's a total of over 21 billion hours per year. 21 billion hours in turn is 2,4 million years. Our first app is in the works and will help users figure out their own taste as well as recommend things to watch based on their own preferences, without overwhelming them in a sea of options. So, will the future of streaming require us to scroll and jump in between platforms in the same way as we do today? Not if we get to decide! We believe in a scroll-free world and Hint will provide not just one way to deal with this but many.
