Maritime Stars is an accelerator program for Danish startups with innovative solutions for the maritime industry. Each year, the maritime industry selects ten of Denmark's best startups, which pitch their businesses for a chance to join the program. With only five available spots, only the five highest-rated startups among the ten pitching candidates are admitted to Maritime Stars each year. Introducing Book My Ride Book My Ride began with a simple mission — to help local taxi companies compete in a world dominated by global ride apps. We noticed that most taxi companies in Sweden still run everything manually. Calls come in, staff write down addresses, and drivers wait for instructions — a process that costs fleets hundreds of thousands of kronor every month and often frustrates passengers with delays or missed rides. We believed there had to be a smarter way. That’s where Book My Ride comes in. We’ve built two connected products that work hand in hand to modernize the taxi industry. Our first product is an AI-powered Dispatch System that replaces call centers entirely. It can take bookings through phone, chat, email, app, or website — just like a human operator, but faster and cheaper. Taxi companies get their own white-label passenger app, branded in their name, and a powerful backend that automates the entire flow from booking to dispatch. Many fleets, like MiniTaxi in Gothenburg, now save over 260,000 SEK each month by switching to Book My Ride. Our second product is the Book My Ride Marketplace — Sweden’s first nationwide taxi marketplace. It brings together fleets from across the country, allowing passengers to compare, choose, and book rides in one place. The marketplace gives smaller companies visibility and new customers they would never reach alone, while giving passengers more choice and transparency. Together, these two products create a complete ecosystem — where taxi companies can operate efficiently with AI, and passengers can find rides anywhere in Sweden through a single app. Book My Ride was founded by Karthik Sengottaian, who saw firsthand how much time and money local fleets were losing just to keep up with everyday bookings. His goal was simple: to give every taxi company, no matter its size, access to the same technology that powers the biggest players — but with full ownership, control, and a local touch. Haato is 'heart' in japanese and the heart is the focus of HATO Medical Technologies. HATO is a MedTech company specializing in heart monitoring and analysis. We have developed an innovative technology that assists healthcare professionals with increasing their qualifications in analyzing and interpreting electrocardiograms (ECG) through 3D visualizations of the heart and data-driven artificial intelligence. According to WHO, heart diseases are the largest killer in the world. Heart diseases and conditions are located and diagnosed with the use of ECG. This heart examination is practiced by General Practitioners, EMTs / Paramedics, Nurses, Doctors, and Cardiologists. Misinterpretation of ECG analysis leads to misdiagnosis, which might lead to fatal consequences for patients and the social economy. A British study estimates that up to 68,5% are misdiagnosed with heart failure. HATO's new digital solution analyzes heart diseases from ECGs using artificial intelligence and machine learning. The software solution increases the foundation of decisions of the healthcare professionals and combines 3D visualizations with our ML models for real-time animation of the patient's heart. All of this will assist healthcare professionals with localizing abnormalities and allow them to react faster at critical events. Innovative and easy. Long story short, the software platform will raise the bottom level of ECG interpretation and give all healthcare professionals a cardiologist by their hand.

COBO Technologies is a fast-growing start-up company based in Copenhagen, Denmark, that specializes in products and services for Quality Control (QC) of CRISPR modified cells and animals. The team behind COBO comes from senior positions in science, commercial and operation, with more than 10 years experience in the CRISPR field. Within the last 5 years, the CRISPR field has developed from more than 100 publications per year to now more than 5,000 publications per year and the number of ongoing clinical trials using a CRISPR tool is now more than 60. In 2020 two CRISPR scientists received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their CRISPR inventions, proving that this is a fast-growing field which is now moving from research to clinics. In consequence, there is a need for platforms that can support efficient QC of CRISPR cells. In more general terms, there is a need to understand what are the safety effects of altering DNA with CRISPR — hitting the right target gene, checking how efficient the DNA change is, and investigating other DNA changes that were not expected. Most of the solutions offered today for cell/DNA analysis are not developed specifically for CRISPR applications. They are expensive, lack sensitivity and are time-consuming and they are done by service companies with no/or little knowledge about CRISPR. Based on our experience from the CRISPR field and feedback from our network in the EU and US, we have developed proprietary platforms that can support the current needs for QC of CRISPR cells. Including both proven reagents for sample preparation, cell analysis and bioinformatics, this is the first full-package solution developed specifically for CRISPR clients. In addition, it combines low cost, high sensitivity and fast delivery time - 3 factors essential for our clients. We have used the past year to build up a scalable operation in Denmark in a low-risk setup and are now ready to speed up the growth first in the EU and then later 2021 in the US. In addition, we will also start the initial preparation of our first development project for a clinical application at the end of 2021. Since the start 2018, COBO has supported more than 15 clients in both EU and US, including leading pharma companies and some of the leading universities in the world. We have developed unique platforms, we have clients every week, we have the network and we have the skills to be a major player in the global CRISPR field and be part of the development of future CRISPR Medicine to treat genetic diseases. PESITHO Pesitho is a Danish based enterprise, committed to providing affordable and clean energy solutions for cooking to marginalized and vulnerable people around the world. We have developed the ECOCA solar powered electric cook stove, to meet the daily cooking and energy needs to families living in off grid areas. Pesitho has established a locally run co-operative outside of the Bidibidi Refugee Settlement in Northern Uganda, from where stoves are assembled, distributed, and serviced by refugee residents and members of the host community. The company was founded in 2018 and has a combined experience of more than 30 years in the renewable energy industry. The Problem we are solving Currently, 4 billion people around the world lack access to clean, efficient, and affordable access to energy for cooking. Polluting fuels and technologies for cooking have a detrimental impact of health, nutrition, gender, and the environment, hindering the process of a sustainable development, in many cases, in already fragile settings. The lack of progress in clean cooking, reportedly costs the world more than $2.4 trillion each year, driven by adverse impacts on health, climate, and gender equality. Left unaddressed, communities will continue face multiple adverse consequences, that are further amplified by poverty, climate change and future global pandemics. To solve this problem Providing access to an affordable and sustainable technology for cooking with the ECOCA solar powered electric cook seeks to address energy security not just for cooking but also to reduce environmental issues like deforestation, pollution, also gender inequality and poverty. Research and design for our stove was conducted with residents of the Bidibidi Refugee Settlement in Northern Uganda, where pilot testing permitted additional adjustments, allowing for a stove specifically designed to meet the cooking needs of vulnerable groups of people living in off grid areas. The ECOCA comes with a solar panel, insulated 6l cooking pot, 1 LED rechargeable household lamp, 1 LED rechargeable torch and USB ports for charging small items. Studies conducted with end users by organizations such as Caritas and World Food Program, have shown improvements to overall health and wellbeing, reducing exposure to harmful pollutants from smoke and usage of firewood, improvements in taste of food, income generation from USB port charging station and hours saved from collecting firewood being reinvested in education and skills training. The Spark Pesitho was founded on the belief that all should be able to have access to modern clean energy for cooking. Seeing a map over Africa showed that a large portion of the continent is without access to modern energy. This sparked a willingness to learn why. Understanding the why lead to the understanding of scale of lacking modern energy in that region of the world. While other continents where mowing a positive direction in relation to rural electrification sub Sarah Africa is still mowing in the wrong direction with the number of people living without access to electricity growing. This knowledge inspired the team to pursue the development of the ECOCA, off grid E-cooker
