Many professions in Finland are regulated and those who have been qualified abroad for a profession that is regulated in Finland will need to apply to the relevant authority for a decision on whether or not they are also qualified for the same profession in Finland. This has a negative impact on Finland’s economy as these professionals are unable to use their skills to contribute to the Finnish society. Consequently, the Finnish economy is unable to benefit symbiotically from international talent already living in Finland. Through a diverse range of programs and services, we assist international professionals qualified for a profession abroad to overcome obstacles hindering them from utilizing their skills in Finland. We provide customised support as well as mentorship and networking opportunities. Early in the value chain with the farmers, a staggering 40% is discarded due to appearance alone. Not to mention during transport and in the supermarkets, where millions of bananas are thrown out every day, because of looks and ripeness. A huge contrast to what the world is calling for. Although society aims at replacing fossil resources with sustainable, renewable alternatives, the production of many materials like plastics and rubbers are still very dependent on fossil fuels. To replace petrol-based rubbers in consumer products, we developed a process to transform birch bark, an abundant residue of the global forestry industry, into the novel biomaterial, Reselo Rubber. Based on a comprehensive material characterisation and encouraging feedback from customers we believe that Reselo Rubber has great potential to replace fossil-derived rubbers in applications like footwear, protective gear, playground flooring and toys.
