Agoprene is a biotech startup based in Oslo and Copenhagen. Agoprene is developing furniture foam from biomass to help the furniture industry reduce their need for petrochemicals. ​ Globally, furniture foam, which is derived from petroleum, accounts for 105 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. One armchair for example, emits an average of 43 kg CO2e, almost half of which is due to furniture foam. ​ Agoprene's foam is completely free of petrochemicals. Cavai AS was founded in December 2017 with the goal of revolutionizing online advertising. User experiences have largely been neglected on the web, and Cavai saw early on that chatbot technology, which has initially been used in customer service, could be a wonderfully good advertising product. Usually, chatbot technology is used as customer service on its own website, while Cavai's platform is built to be able to use chatbot technology on millions of websites for contextual advertising. The team today consists of 15 people, and the product has been launched in Norway, Finland, Sweden and the UK with 50 paying customers. Customers are very pleased and report that Cavai's technology is having a very good effect on completed advertising campaigns. Cavai will have its first month of positive operating results in October and looks to have sales of around 3 million in 2019. Next year will be a big growth year, where we have budgeted with a turnover of NOK 41 million. This growth has also been discussed by Finansavisen, where as part of Finansavisen's web-TV series "Vext", Cavai filmed his meeting with advertising legend Sir Marting Sorell in London. CYBERSECURITY FOR INDUSTRIAL NETWORKS AND CONTROL SYSTEMS Secure-NOK® is a technology company providing cybersecurity solutions for monitoring industrial networks (OT), and for detecting vulnerable areas. The company has vast experience and recognized technology, and has participated in several research projects with outstanding results. The technology (SNOK) can detect any abnormal event in a network and prevent important infrastructure from experiencing downtime due to malicious attack. Today, most industries are digitized, and thus more exposed to attacks from the outside. With technology from Secure-NOK, such attacks will be detected early, and thus avoid damage and downtime. Secure-NOK has developed patented sensors which are installed in a OT network, and which capture and report any abnormal traffic. The company has sensors for both networks, end-stations and PLC systems.

Based in Kongsberg - the heart of the Subsea Valley - Kongsberg Ferrotech is utilizing world-leading competence to develop the first-ever automated solution, the Oktapous, for riser cleaning, NDT inspection, maintenance (coating), and structural repair (glass/carbon fiber reinforcement). The repair will be performed inside the patented Habitat - allowing for composite repairs subsea and in the splash zone while offering quality as if the repair was performed in a laboratory environment. The Oktapous will offer the client around 50% cost reduction, together with improved quality and significantly reduced HSE risk compare to existing solutions by removing the need for rope access, divers, and ROVs. Kongsberg Ferrotech is partly funded by the Malaysian-based oil and gas company, Petronas Charigali. Utilizing building ventilation systems to capture atmospheric CO2 and generate three-way benefits - reducing emissions, environmental benefits, and reducing CO2 exposure for the residents. Over half of the world’s population is currently urban, with predictions that this number will likely grow by 1.56 billion over the next two decades. As a result, we will see new megalopolises emerge, and an exponential increase in the construction of new buildings and CO2 emissions. This surge in the number of people living and working in buildings will only reinforce the challenge of guaranteeing the best air quality levels possible. A high concentration of CO2 has been proven to make people feel dizzy, tired, and sleepy. A Harvard study shows that for each 400-ppm increase in indoor CO2 concentration, our cognitive function score becomes 20% lower. Ours is the most affordable technology for increasing overall employee wellbeing by preventing their productivity from decreasing by 20%. If buildings can be used as CO2 capturing machines the lifetime emission can be offset. One single system for building ventilation of 3m3/s can capture 20 tons of CO2 per year. In a single building, one might have, for example, 20 ventilation units. So, per building, it is 400 tons of CO2 captured per year. When the system is used with renewable electricity (5kWh energy required per kilo CO2 captured) (20g/kWh) the emission is 100g when 1000g is captured. By transforming buildings into carbon sinks, net-zero targets can become achievable. Buildings become an active protector of environments and contribute to global negative CO2 emissions. Soletair Power captures carbon utilizing buildings' ventilation systems, which achieves up to a 50% reduction in emissions, supports employee wellbeing, and increases productivity.
