ABchar

ABchar is developing a new type of pyrolysis reactor, affordable heating and the possibility of small-scale biochar production, adapted to agriculture.. This will help achieve the goal of a 40% reduction in emissions from the agricultural sector. What is pyrolysis? Simply put, this is the heating of an organic material without access to oxygen. This leads to a series of reactions that ultimately result in 3 main products; biochar, oil and gas. We want to utilize the biochar in this process. The oil and gas will be burned and the heat from this will be used to dry grain, heat barns, greenhouses, residential buildings and other things that need heat on a farm. Why pyrolysis and biochar? Plants absorb CO2 from the air around us through photosynthesis. They are actually extremely good at this too. The residual product is mainly oxygen and the plant material. The great thing about pyrolysis is that we are able to separate water, oxygen and hydrogen from the plant material and we are left with more or less pure carbon 80% +. This is carbon from the air! If we take this coal and spread it on our agricultural land, it will be stored there for up to 1000 years and perhaps longer. In some cases, the soil will become more fertile and less vulnerable to periods of too much or too little water.

ForestWatch

Climate Fintech, shifting the forestry-based carbon offset system from trust-based to information-based. We can provide a publicly accessible ledger, with the minimal unit set to 1 ton of CO2e. This will guarantee transparent transactions and multiple-counting proof. Satellite imagery will have a pillar role in the execution. Every single hectare (ha) will be regularly, permanently, and objectively monitored on a strict data-based system. This will position FW as the leading solution to address the EU necessity for the first European-based public registry, to solve the technical limits of the EU CRCF framework. Compared to the other solutions, we are creating a 1-stop platform for buyers, PDs and Auditors.

StudyBuddies

StudyBuddies is developing an AI-powered platform to help students form effective, diverse study groups. We solve the challenge of connecting students who struggle with collaboration or feel isolated, using AI to create personalized group matches and foster success throughout their studies. Research shows that a lack of social and academic connections leads to lower engagement and retention rates. We address student isolation and ineffective teamwork—problems that impact academic performance and overall well-being. These issues are prevalent, with studies showing that up to 40% of students feel disconnected during their education. Our focus is on empowering students with tailored study groups that drive learning outcomes and create lasting networks. StudyBuddies leverages AI algorithms to match students based on study preferences, goals, and academic strengths. Our platform includes tools to track progress, promote accountability, and provide real-time feedback. We ensure that all students, regardless of background, can find a supportive community and thrive academically. The idea for StudyBuddies came from my own experiences as a student. I’ve faced group assignments where I ended up without a group at all and failed, and I’ve seen others struggle and lose motivation because they felt lonely and unsupported. These experiences made it clear to me that there has to be a better way to create effective groups and academic communities. This became the driving force behind starting StudyBuddies.

Styla is a fashion discovery app that helps style-conscious individuals to keep up with fast-paced fashion trends by offering a platform where users can share and explore outfits. Our vision is to become the single source of truth of fashion. The problem is twofold: Consumers find it difficult to keep up with ever-changing fashion trends, and when they do, the trends they see aren’t always validated or trustworthy. At the same time, influencers struggle to monetize their influence effectively on current platforms. -The app’s trends are validated by real-time engagement metrics, ensuring that what’s shown as trending reflects what users truly love. -The app offers shoppable links and a variety of filters—including age groups—for a personalized experience. -Content Creators are able to monetize their content, while fashion brands get high quality exposure and are able to access to trend data and performance analytics. The motivation behind Styla came from the frustration of trying to keep up with the ever-changing fashion landscape. Like many others, I didn’t have the time to constantly follow fast-moving trends, and the ads I encountered felt disconnected from what was actually "in." I wanted a platform that would show me what’s actually trending for a person like me, and I realized many others shared the same need.

The Hive Initiative is creating tools to help companies integrate adaptation and mitigation efforts within their organisation through design-thinking workshops and implementation frameworks. As most people do not have a background in environmental science, it can be challenging to understand the full picture and how roles can be adapted. And while sustainability courses and seminars convey knowledge, it remains challenging to keep the energy high, the culture empowered, and the knowledge put into practice. The Hive Initiative’s Mini Climate Summit makes it easy to address these challenges. It brings employees together in real time to learn science-based facts and then gives them a forum to collaborate on solutions. With ideas captured and implemented, KPIs are met, ESG requirements are fulfilled and culture is strengthened. The result: more minds that help make company sustainability more active, enabled and empowered, which in turn makes society more educated and resilient. We are a group of people with high levels of climate anxiety- but also high levels of optimism. We want to use our skills in design and communication to make it easier for everyone to stay educated, hopeful and empowered, which will make it much easier for all of us to adapt to our changing world. As the founder, I wanted to work on solutions every day, and did so while having a day job. After 4 years, myself and my collaborators have built up a good product prototype, solid relationships with other climate orgs, and solid vision of what we hope to achieve. So it was the right time to focus on this fully. I really do believe that all of us want a world that is fair for everyone and is in harmony nature. We just have to figure out how to get there.

FINE CHAOS

FINE CHAOS is a disruptive, deconstructive and young brand. All collections start with two opposites, which the Creative Director, Marc C. Møllerskov, builds concepts within the span of two opposites, and the name FINE CHAOS is also a reflection of his own design process – chaotic yet that is how the beauty is found and made. All designs have a kind of disruptiveness to them, loading the garment with ‘time’, where the consumer can feel the hands that created the garment. Craftsmanship is extremely important and it must support the idea for the specific garment, as else you design for a product to have a short lifespan. By integrating a deeply layered storytelling into each garment, you can keep exploring new things in it. A perfect example of this is our Magazine shirt or Ravers Club Top, where you keep finding new patterns within the print. A garment is never seen in full potential until it has reached its owner, as a FINE CHAOS garment is much about identity. As we strive to be the voice of the youth, our collections tell a story that hopefully starts a dialogue about how the younger generation sees the future. This is seen through vocal print designs, sharp silhouettes and the fitting color choices of the collections.
