The Nordic-China Startup Forum is a non-profit NGO registered in Sweden that arranges recurring events in local startup communities alongside corporate and government partners. NCSF is operated by students and young professionals from the Nordics and China and has chapters in ten cities: Stockholm, Uppsala, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo, Shenzhen-HK, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing.

FASK founder Aarseth has worked as seaman in many years, the last years offshore and within anchorhandling. He came from goods/bulk trade and older secondhand vessel types to a offshore environment with new and modern vessels with top equipment of all categories onboard. It was therefore nearly  a shock-experience for him, when he at his first rig-move and this up to date working environment,  observed working methods associated with the stone-age while performing the opening of kenterlinks. Aarseth thought to himself that this operation seemed dangerous and cumbersome. He thought of his own sons working in this industry, and felt that this needed a better solution. That thought was the beginning of the kenter link opener, and Fask Tools. Aarseth came in contact with Statoil and Havila, who were immediately interested, but that required testing of this then unknown tool in  safe environment before testing/operation offshore. Testing was performed onshore by Kongsberg Devotek and later offshore and in operation onboard the Havila Mars.

It brings employees together in real time to learn science-based facts and then gives them a forum to collaborate on solutions. The result: more minds that help make company sustainability more active, enabled and empowered, which in turn makes society more educated and resilient. We are a group of people with high levels of climate anxiety- but also high levels of optimism. We want to use our skills in design and communication to make it easier for everyone to stay educated, hopeful and empowered, which will make it much easier for all of us to adapt to our changing world. As the founder, I wanted to work on solutions every day, and did so while having a day job. After 4 years, myself and my collaborators have built up a good product prototype, solid relationships with other climate orgs, and solid vision of what we hope to achieve. So it was the right time to focus on this fully. I really do believe that all of us want a world that is fair for everyone and is in harmony nature. We just have to figure out how to get there.
