True Energy offers a smart charging app to our end users so they can register their car or charger and have it start or stop charging based on the hour of day and the electricity price, so the user optimizes their charging to be cheapest. The service is free of charge for the end user because they participate in our flexibility pool where the power companies can buy offsetting of the consumption if the grid is overloaded or production is expensive. We use Google Workspace, GitLab as code repo, Jira for our agile project management, and Slack for chat. We have a policy of 100% line coverage for unit tests, and want to support continuous delivery. We focus on collaboration and an open, inclusive work environment. We are developing a platform to help owners of renewable power plants and their service providers gaining access to the right information at the right time, enabling the right decisions. In order to achieve this we deconstruct the hundreds of documents describing each plant into snippets of information in accordance with our domain-driven data model. In the next 7 years, the world needs to invest almost twice what has been invested into renewable energy generation in the last 20 years. At the same time subsidies are being rolled back, increasing the need to for ensuring that projected ROI is not compromised by underperformance of the investments (i.e. plants). We have lived the pain, and know that NOW is the time to transform the way commercial management of renewable energy plants is being done.
