Gate2Horizon is a new company, which leverages the experience of its employees in the domain of so-called "exploitation of project results" in large EU-funded Research & Innovation projects (under the Horizon Europe - Pillar II funding programme). We work across diverse sectors such as Bioeconomy, Circular Economy, Mining, Aquaculture, and Health Policy. As part of the consortium in the EU projects, we assist project partners in the exploitation of their project results with a hands-on approach and tools to make sure the results coming out of the project are "exploited" at the end of the project's lifetime, that is "made us of to tackle societal problems, in policymaking or for commercial purposes". In the initial phase, we identify and characterize results and their potential owners. A significant pain point in the industry is the burden of documentation, which often feels meaningless and too complex, as well as it stands in the way of educators' core tasks. TUMling was founded in the fall of 2023 by me, Stefan Steinmejer. I am a former bachelor-educated preschool teacher, who has now further educated myself and will complete a MSc in Information Technology, Specializing in ICT, Learning and Organizational Change, in the summer of '24. I also have two children who attend a private preschool institution, where I have served on the board for 2 years. The foundation of TUMling is thus a combination of professional insight, technological innovation, board experience, and a problem that strikes right into both my educator heart and my father heart. With a prototype developed in 2023, TUMling is now in the software development phase, and is actively seeking partners who can fully program the solution. The plan is to enter agreements with the private market in 2024 and launch sales in 2025. In the longer term, the goal is to expand to the public and international markets.
