We do weekly team lunches and about once a month get-togethers around games, hiking, movies or other experiences. At Frank, everyone knows everyone at the office, and if you want to pull together an afterwork, a team football session or an art gallery visit Frank has got your back. We are located in central Helsinki. Do, learn, repeat!  We don’t support hierarchic organisation structures – everyone can share their ideas and contribute to improving our product. We value everyone’s expertise and insights. We want to do, learn, repeat – failing is a normal part of learning as well.

MindMove - TheMOVE

TheMOVE is a health-promoting digital platform designed to support children’s motor and sensory development through play and technology. Using AI, motion capture, and gamification, we motivate children to engage in expert-designed physical activities - at home, in schools, kindergartens, or as part of therapeutic programs. The challenge is widespread and growing: 29% of children in early school years show signs of motor difficulties. Up to 10% are believed to have sensory integration challenges, which impact learning, emotional regulation, and social participation. While some of these children receive support from therapists, many do not. They are misunderstood as inattentive, unmotivated, or disruptive - when in fact, they lack the motor or sensory foundation needed to function comfortably in everyday life. These children miss out on vital development simply because no one identifies their needs. Even when children are in treatment, exercises often don’t get done at home. Therapists rely on printed instructions or verbal explanations - but families struggle to remember them, find the time, or motivate their child. This leads to poor treatment outcomes, frustration, and dropouts. TheMOVE offers a solution for all children, diagnosed or not: We turn clinical expertise into an engaging, interactive experience. Children are guided by a personalized AI companion through tailored exercises, supported by playful storytelling, adaptive feedback, and real-time motivation. Whether used by therapists, teachers, or families, TheMOVE bridges the gap between clinical knowledge and everyday life. It supports: - Early intervention in schools and kindergartens - Better follow-through in therapy - Accessible support for families - Stronger motor skills, increased confidence, and improved well-being TheMOVE gives children the tools to thrive, and gives adults a way to support them with structure, play, and evidence-based content.

Electricity Maps

Electricity Maps provides actionable electricity data for more than 200 regions. We help businesses more effectively reduce their emissions, and enable products and services to differentiate their offerings by empowering end-users to be more carbon-aware. As wind and solar production fluctuate throughout the day, this information needs to be dynamic and updated in real-time. As this real-time information about the physical origin of electricity will be scrutinized and challenged by many parties, the effort has to be collaborative, open, and transparent. This is what motivated the creation of Electricity Maps. It started as a simple real-time data visualization in June 2016 and turned into a comprehensive data platform with high scientific integrity. More than 40,000 people use our app on a daily basis and market leaders like Google and Microsoft, are using our API for extensive projects in order to reach their climate goals and help their users take action against climate change. Our goal: a truly decarbonized electricity system. To get there, we will organize the world's electricity information, and use it to drive the transition toward a truly decarbonized electricity system.

Blockchain pioneers We created the first protocol for issuing tokens on the Bitcoin network. We used it to issue fiat currency together with LHV bank in 2014, and then to crowdfund startups on the Funderbeam platform. We designed a blockchain agnostic client-side validated smart contracting platform that put privacy first before privacy became a hot topic in blockchain. We have used it to support internal leasing in large organisations, issue financial instruments, and to allow government agencies to issue licenses digitally. In 2018 we used it to demo a live property sale together with the Swedish Land Registry. Technology by us We are the creators of relational blockchain, a new blockchain architecture which combines the power and flexibility of a relational database and the fault tolerant decentralised security of a blockchain. We built Postchain, a private blockchain or consortium database using the relational blockchain architecture. Postchain has registered property on three continents, accelerated the growth of green finance, and formed the basis for a proposed national e-currency. Relational blockchain also powers Chromia, our public platform for decentralized applications. Relational blockchain allows Chromia to offer a user and developer experience which no other blockchain platform can match.
