Det simple set-up giver også venner og familie mulighed for at reservere ønsker, på delte ønskelister, så dobbeltgaver undgås. I 2020 blev Ønskeskyen opkøbt af Dotcom Capital, som har sat alle sejl ind på at gøre Ønskeskyen bedre, sjovere og større samt gøre det til et internationalt fænomen.
