Based in Kongsberg - the heart of the Subsea Valley - Kongsberg Ferrotech is utilizing world-leading competence to develop the first-ever automated solution, the Oktapous, for riser cleaning, NDT inspection, maintenance (coating), and structural repair (glass/carbon fiber reinforcement). The repair will be performed inside the patented Habitat - allowing for composite repairs subsea and in the splash zone while offering quality as if the repair was performed in a laboratory environment. The Oktapous will offer the client around 50% cost reduction, together with improved quality and significantly reduced HSE risk compare to existing solutions by removing the need for rope access, divers, and ROVs. Kongsberg Ferrotech is partly funded by the Malaysian-based oil and gas company, Petronas Charigali. This ensures us access to the market needs during development, an offshore platform for prototype testing, and the critical first client for market acceptance. Vesiro is an early-stage startup that is developing an add-on to Elasticsearch to enable much better search performance. The product is in part based on our novel, patented search algorithms. Initial tests on data from Common Crawl (which is the same data used to train ChatGPT) shows that we can cut search times in Elasticsearch by 30-50% depending on search type used. The increase in search speed means that our software enables a more efficient use of servers in Elastic clusters, helping our customers save money on servers. It also means that the software reduces server energy consumption as fewer servers are needed to do the same amount of search.
