I owned a small leather goods business in Australia which broke even and was gaining consistent orders before I had to choose to either continue or relocate to Norway with my day job. I am building Kørt because, in my corporate career, I was traveling internationally regularly but could never find the bag that did all the functions I needed. Travel size laptop bag, great for in the board room and customer meetings, easy to take around while exploring the city I was in, and could also take me to a bar or black tie event, and then become a backpack to take on the plane when I was flying home the next day. In all my travels I didn't find anything, so I created it myself. I am building my company right from the start. I am fully focused on the entire supply chain of my materials and manufacturing. We enable the green shift to happen in new markets! TioTech is a Norwegian producer of titania (TiO2) nanomaterials and a developer of titania-based technology. We know how to optimise the production process and properties of titania nanoparticles. After successfully developing and commercialising a series of photocatalytic surface treatment products (www.joma-int.com), we are directing our R&D efforts towards a new area; the use of titania as anode-material in Lithium-ion batteries (LIB). A battery with our material on the anode will charge faster, last longer, be safer and tolerate temperature variation better than conventional batteries which have graphite on the anode, and outcompete LTO-batteries on capacity. The development work takes place in our in-house laboratory in Bergen, where our dedicated team (Hjørdis, Marthe, Rob, Anders) play around with titania, giving life to innovative solutions.
