B'ZEOS

B’ZEOS develops novel, flexible, and home-compostable films based on seaweed extracts which can replace conventional and bio-based single-use plastic films in food-contact applications. B’ZEOS’ solution will contribute to reduce the use of non- or hardly recyclable plastic materials for single-use food packaging, thus reducing CO2 emissions. We are a team of 8 people with complementary backgrounds. One engineer in environment, two material scientists, one graphic designer, one supply chain analyst, one quality engineer advisor, one PR and marketing advisor and one CFO advisor.   Each of us are concerned by environmental issues and wanted to contribute to make a change.   We have joined this project because we are all fed up with:    - Contamination of world's drinking water with plastic fibres   - Seeing marine animals dying because of our plastic trash   - Increase of plastic packaging around fresh aliments   - Increase in plastic debris along the coast   - Both burning plastic and sending plastic to landfills   - Finding plastic while making with our kids sand castles   - Contamination with the chemicals in plastic. These chemicals are said to cause obesity, on-set puberty, and even cancer.   - Direct contamination of our kids by chewing various objects in plastic.   - Being exposed to plastic every single day and not having the chance to choose an alternative   We, at B’ZEOS and as consumers, believe in a sustainable alternative to current plastic and we have been working on the elaboration of a sustainable alternative without forcing the consumer to change dramatically his habits.

Cobrief

Cobrief is developing an AI-powered public procurement platform to help businesses across all industries find, evaluate, and win government tenders — replacing manual, time-consuming bid processes with intelligent automation that acts like having an extra colleague on the team. Public procurement represents over 800 billion NOK annually in Norway alone, yet the average government tender receives only around 3–5 bids. In nearly 20% of tenders, only one or zero suppliers submit a bid. The reason: tender data is scattered across closed platforms, the process is complex, and small businesses lack the resources to keep up. Suppliers can't find the opportunities, or give up because the process is too complicated. The result is less competition, worse deals for taxpayers, and lost revenue for businesses that could have won. Cobrief aggregates public tenders from procurement databases across Scandinavia, Finland, and Germany — including Doffin, TED, Udbud, and Hilma — into a single searchable platform. AI-powered matching scores every opportunity against each company's profile, sending relevant alerts via email, Slack, or Teams. When a team decides to bid, an AI writing module drafts proposal responses from a knowledge base of past submissions. Automated price sheet filling pulls from product catalogs, and CV matching identifies the right personnel. A Bid Manager Agent provides autonomous support throughout the entire process — functioning as an AI colleague from evaluation to submission. Teams collaborate in shared workspaces with task boards, deadline calendars, and role-based access. Used by 1,500+ companies, with a free plan to get started. The founders experienced firsthand how broken the public procurement process is for suppliers. Tender data that should be freely and directly accessible by law is in practice locked behind commercial platforms, creating unnecessary barriers to competition. They saw that businesses — especially SMBs — were missing out on opportunities worth billions simply because the system was too opaque and complex. Cobrief was built to fix that: make public tenders accessible, understandable, and winnable for every business. AirDodge

AirDodge is a Norwegian company with an HQ in Oslo, Norway. We are building an automated air traffic management system(termed as U-Space software) to enable scalable drone operations. Our target end customers will be drone operators. U-Space solves the problem for all drone operators by making it much easier to obtain permissions. It enables large scale Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations whereof today this is too costly for most companies. It also makes it safer for manned aviation such as emergency helicopters that will have full visibility of ongoing drone flights in the area they are approaching. Other drone operators such as police, search and rescue will be able to quickly deploy drones opposed to wait for helicopters to arrive. They may also mandate quick clearing of drones from any given area in case such operations must take place. Our solution is to build our own software platform and provide flight services according to the EASA framework recently published. These services will be legally required and the 4 primary services are defined by: 1) Drone Identification: This service will be focused on providing information on all the live drone traffic in U-Space to all participants (operators in the air). 2) Live Air Traffic Identification: This service will be focused on providing information on all the live manned air traffic in U-Space. All manned air traffic has to make themselves electronically visible if flying in U-Space. If a manned aircraft flies too close to a drone, then the drone pilot/operator will receive a warning message. 3) Geo-Zones: These are the core geographical definitions of airspaces on map where drone operators can see where they can or cannot fly. Examples of restricted airspaces include airports, military bases, prisons, bird sanctuaries, obstacles etc. Having an extensive dataset which displays all the possible flight restriction/warning zones is significantly important to drone operators as it ensures compliance and more efficient flight planning. 4) Flight Authorization: This gives drone operators the ability to ensure their flight path does not intersect/conflict with any other operators conducting drone flights in the same airspace. The flight authorization will require drone pilots to submit their flight path in 4 dimensions which include 3D trajectory and time. Flight authorization will also allow drone pilots to communicate with Air Traffic control to request a drone flight in restricted airspace. The response times for both types of requests will be instant. AirDodge was originally founded by Umar in 2022 in Sweden. A year later he moved the company to Norway where he met Serhii in 2024 and then they built the company together. Umar, as the founder of Skyqraft—a company specializing in drone-based powerline inspection—gained firsthand experience with the challenges of commercial drone flying while leading its operations. His deep industry knowledge, combined with Serhii’s technological expertise, laid the foundation for AirDodge. Together, they are building innovative solutions to streamline drone operations, making them safer, more efficient, and seamlessly integrated into regulatory frameworks. We are backed by Antler, Nordic Makers and also received grant funding from Innovation Norway.

Cavai AS

Cavai AS was founded in December 2017 with the goal of revolutionizing online advertising. User experiences have largely been neglected on the web, and Cavai saw early on that chatbot technology, which has initially been used in customer service, could be a wonderfully good advertising product. Usually, chatbot technology is used as customer service on its own website, while Cavai's platform is built to be able to use chatbot technology on millions of websites for contextual advertising. The team today consists of 15 people, and the product has been launched in Norway, Finland, Sweden and the UK with 50 paying customers. Customers are very pleased and report that Cavai's technology is having a very good effect on completed advertising campaigns. Cavai will have its first month of positive operating results in October and looks to have sales of around 3 million in 2019. Next year will be a big growth year, where we have budgeted with a turnover of NOK 41 million. This growth has also been discussed by Finansavisen, where as part of Finansavisen's web-TV series "Vext", Cavai filmed his meeting with advertising legend Sir Marting Sorell in London. We have developed a camera-based sensor for 24h automatic sea lice counting and biomass measurement. Our product solves the main challenges in high contrast underwater imagery of sea lice with deficient maintenance. Pharmasum Therapeutics AS

New drugs for treating diseases of Down syndrome. More than 1% of the global GDP is spent on nursing demented people, and the number requiring nursing will triple within 2050. The disease is progressive, leading to death. There is no current cure available, only symptomatic treatments. Individuals born with Down syndrome have a more than 10x risk of developing dementia as well as a host of other diseases including diabetes. Our drug target, DYRK1A is an enzyme found on chromosome 21, and is considered a key factor determining developmental and medical challenges faced by individuals with Down. The enzyme interacts with multiple biological mechanisms involved in Alzheimer’s and autoimmune diseases. Advanced drug designUsing advanced drug design technologies, we have designed a potent DYRK1A inhibitor drug, PST-900. A use and substance of matter patent have been applied for. The company is currently working on chemical Lead Optimisation with 8 full-time medicinal chemists contracted.Financing and milestonesThe Company raised NOK 5 million in 2015 and 8.8 MNOK in 2016/2017, matching non-dilutive research (BIA) and business grants (Innovation Norway). We demonstrated Proof of Principle in a model system for Alzheimer’s disease in 2Q2016. We have also demonstrated that our drug is capable of reversing diabetes in an animal model. Together with clinical and regulatory advisors, we have identified an important unmet need for a drug to treat newly diagnosed diabetes. We will use this indication to quickly progress to market and from there develop analogous drug molecules in Alzheimer’s disease, focused especially in Down syndrome. Funding soughtThe current funding round will raise 15+ MNOK to fund the progression to the final Development Candidate during 2018.
