Monto is developing a cutting-edge rental platform to help individuals and businesses rent items, making access to resources easy and sustainable with a user-friendly platform. We are tackling the issue of underutilized resources and overconsumption. This problem affects both individuals and businesses, leading to unnecessary waste and environmental impact. Many items are only used sporadically, resulting in a significant carbon footprint. This problem is widespread across various industries and communities. Monto offers a digital marketplace where private users and businesses can list and rent out their gear and equipment. By providing a platform that streamlines communication, transactions, and rental processes, Monto empowers people to rent what they need instead of buying, reducing waste and encouraging a more sustainable lifestyle. Our user-friendly platform ensures a seamless rental experience for everyone involved. The idea for Monto originated from witnessing the growing issue of overconsumption and its environmental impact. We realized that the sharing economy could play a crucial role in addressing this problem. The desire to make a positive impact on the planet and promote sustainable practices fueled our determination to build Monto. We quit our day jobs to focus on this entrepreneurial journey because we believe that facilitating the sharing of resources can lead to a greener and more efficient world, benefitting both individuals and the environment.

Keybird Instruments

Keybird Instruments is developing a lightweight acoustic piano to help piano enthusiasts play with their preferred sound (acoustic) with practicality and price comparable to that of digital pianos. Over 75% of piano players prefer an acoustic sound, yet most play digital because of price, size, and weight. We want to combine the best of both worlds. We can offer an acoustic piano that weighs only 43+ 16 kg, while only occupying half a square meter of valuable living space. It can be transported in normal cars. The first model has a slightly reduced amount of keys (just like many digital keyboards) having all the keys for pop and jazz but also most of the classical music for the first five years in music school. We thus have a strong focus on sound quality, rather than loudness, and we can reach the low price due to automated production in the worlds largest factory. We started this because we needed it for ourselves and saw the need for others. We asked all the piano enthusiasts we could reach and get the interest in our product confirmed. The huge market of acoustic and digital piano (we combine the benefits) is what keeps us on pace to provide an excellent alternative to digital piano's, which often get boring in the long run (We're just sharing our customer insights here ;)

Our purpose is to enable children to get the best possible start in life. This purpose can take on many shapes and sizes. The first of which is helping parents invest their children's longterm savings. In a sense you could call us a niche robo-advisor for families though we would argue that we have so much more lined up to support our purpose. Why start here? Because today no one is focusing on helping families - parents, grandparents and friends of the family - get started saving and investing on behalf of their children. In this sense, children is the most underserved market within wealth management. This has direct consequences for children's financial future as families today have scattered savings accounts where the majority of deposits are in cash. With a very low interest rate the children's savings are losing value year after year after year due to inflation. Put another way: children are missing out on far more than 10x returns. At Tobi we help parents open an investment account for their children.
