Dogs are pampered with more and more stuff, and fed with meatier food than necessary. Opulence doesn’t make a dog any happier, and the overconsumption happens at the expense of the environment. Pups bring so much joy to our everyday. That’s why owning a dog should not be a choice against the climate – and that’s why we founded Alvar. We founded Alvar to joint together the growing popularity of pets and the growing popularity of eco-aware lifestyles. We do it by offering (easy for customers, need-based for dogs, impactful for environment) sustainable solutions to conscious pup owners.

The current market for assistive walking devices has failed to adequately support this community, with ageist messages and outdated models that denote feelings of dependence and fragility – an inaccurate representation of today’s thriving older adult community. LastObject is dedicated to creating sustainable alternatives to single-use items. We've created LastSwab (alternative to cotton swabs), LastTissue (alternative to kleenex), LastRound (alternative to cotton rounds), and LastPad (alternative to menstrual pads). We always aim to make products that are 10x more sustainable than the single-use products they replace. LastObject’s mission is to reduce and eliminate single-use products. Our main focus is to identify single-use items that needlessly damage our environment. Our aim is to reduce waste. When we started, our idea was to do produce something good for the environment and being three designers it made sense to use those skills and design something that works as replacements for something that is damaging the environment.
