Culture Works

Culture Works is an award-winning cultural agency that develops, designs and creates brand activations, campaigns and events where brands and target groups meet each other. We have offices in Aarhus and Copenhagen, while our projects have long since moved beyond the Danish borders. Before COVID-19 hit the world, we lived primarily by creating physical events, but in record time we have transformed our business to also develop and design digital experiences and campaigns that include movies, web platforms, graphic design, live-streaming and large-scale landscaping SoMe campaigns. The future for us consists of both types of projects - also when the vaccine arrives. It started as a music association in 2010. Hard work, huge love of culture and the desire to create our own time has driven us to the agency and the people we are today

Vev

We made Vev for the next generation of creatives. From our own experiences as developers, designers, digital producers, content writers, and so much more, we were constantly faced with the brick wall that is web production. Large bespoke builds were costly and labor-intensive, and CMS templates made our stories feel flat and uninteresting. We built Vev with this simple principle: Take what's in your imagination and put it on the page. We are excited to bring creative power back to teams and we can't wait to check out what you all create.

Frivind AS

Scaleout Systems

We are solving the data access challenge in AI. AI is the next major enabling technology, just like cloud and smartphones. It will transform every industry. Machine learning is about learning from data. The problem is that most companies cannot use the data they already have. There are privacy concerns, regulatory constraints, and many practical issues to deal with. We're building a federated learning solution that makes it possible to create machine learning models on unseen data that is distributed between several data controllers, either in different data centers or devices at the edge. We are currently working together with organizations such as Swiss Air, AstraZeneca, AI Sweden, GE Healthcare, and several others. We are an expert team with post-docs and faculty members from top-ranked Uppsala university and experienced entrepreneurs. And as one of the leaders in this field, we are now accelerating the development to take our solution to market.

Student Survival Guide

Student Survival Guide is a community-driven project that is gathering in one platform all important information about university life in a foreign country. Students can also find tips from former students, learn more about daily life in the new country, and discover local gems, only other students know about. We are also running a weekly live broadcast where students can engage in a conversation about current events in the country and the world. We provide people with information that is crucial to a successful and happy life in Denmark. And we make sure that the information is correct, easy to understand, and actionable. We are making sure that we include the community, answer questions that people are asking, and touch on topics, which most other publicly funded organizations cannot. After a successful year on the market, we have learned how to communicate key information in an effective way, either through videos, articles or live streams. After our platform grew, we understood from peoples feedback that they needed a strong sense of community. Therefore, we are organizing weekly meetings in Aarhus, where all like-minded students can meet and work together on common goals. We have developed the project to it’s near full-market potential. We are present on all key platforms where the target group is and we have established an organizational structure that is recruiting more members. We are technologically capable to execute large projects and collaborations. We are part of AU Incubator since 2019, where we have held conversations with startup advisors. Consequently, we are using AU Incubator as a meeting point for the community that builds Student Survival Guide. Student Survival Guide is run by Michael Mares and Jaroslav Vyhnak, both 24 year old Master’s Degree Students in Economics and Business Administration at Aarhus University in Denmark. However, Student Survival Guide is a community-run project where a key asset are the contributors that write and share their knowledge. The contributor can be anyone with experience of the Danish way of life and schooling. So far, SSG has had more than 20 contributors. All of the contributors are bachelor’s/master’s degree students from international backgrounds. Contributors form teams that are responsible for various areas of the project, such as blogging, social media, video editing, news research and community management. All of the teams have their respective managers, who collaborate together to ensure proper project development. We have so far been able to reach more than 100,000 people through social media, gained more than 5,000+ followers on social media and got our videos viewed more than 43,000 times. On top of this, more than 10,000 students have already read our blogs and ‘survival guides’ to Denmark, on our website. We got the project to the point where many of the students prefer to contact us with their questions rather than relying on their universities or other ‘resourceful’ institutions.

ID Connect A/S

With many and changing employees, and internal and external systems containing an increasing number of personal data, there are plenty of tasks to be handled in today’s companies. GDPR and an increasing risk based on CYBER crime attacks, create a clear need to protect information and ensure full tracking on who has access to which systems. The IT-department always plays a role in daily administration of IT users, and their access to systems and services. Because new hire processes in companies often are based on emails and manual workflows, the organization typically will lack a central and updated overview of the company's employees and what systems and information they can access. It is time consuming and a financial challenge to comply with GDPR requirements, as well as ensuring policies are followed and oversight are available. With ID Connect, the allocation of access to systems can be transferred to a business administrator in a department - or even to the manager responsible for the individual employee. It increases security while saving time and increase delivery response time at the same time. With Identity and Access Management from ID Connect, you will get maybe the most user-friendly solution on the market. Managers or business owners will have an overview of their employees' access-rights, and audit reports will always tell how and when access was granted. Role-based access management from ID Connect is the professional solution for companies who want a secure and efficient user and access management solution they themselves can manage and maintain. The quick and easy setup of ID Connect as a Service is provided without additional requirements for local installations and maintenance. In short, with ID Connect, the company receives a service that provides a complete overview of all access data and built-in reports showing exactly which employees have access to which systems. This real-time overview is crucial to demonstrate ex. GDPR compliance.

Playvation Ltd

Playvation is a Finnish EdTech company that designs high-quality language learning solutions for early education organizations. Our flagship product Moomin Language School is an immersive digital language learning service for learning organizations with children between the ages of 3 and 10. The service is based on Finnish education principles, various learning theories and research into early language learning, language immersion and child development. Language skills are essential in the modern global world, yet millions of children lack access to high-quality teaching and learning content. We are about to change this. Thanks to our learning application and ready-made lesson plans, any learning organization can start teaching English to the children in their care. Moomin Language School combines the use of a learning application with teacher-led playful lessons to bring children the best of both worlds. With Moomin Language School, any learning organization can start to teach a foreign language to the children in their care. Children use the learning application individually to learn vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation either at the learning organization or at home. The learning application is used every day and the daily practice takes only 5-15 minutes. Our learning application’s time limit makes sure that children get only a healthy amount of screen time each day. Moomin Language School also includes lesson plans for 30-45-minute interactive and playful group sessions once a week for small groups. The lessons reinforce the language learned with the learning application and build up communicative skills, collaboration skills and social skills. The lessons are filled with social interaction, physical activities, songs, stories, and arts and crafts to help children use the new language in various contexts. Moomin Language School uses the flipped classroom model. This means that children first use the learning application to learn about the weekly topic and relevant vocabulary and grammar. After this they have the related playful lesson where they deepen their knowledge and use the language in a real-world setting. This model leaves the teacher more time to focus on communication and connecting with the children, making learning more effective and engaging. It also increases children’s courage to use the language by giving them a chance to practice first on their own using the learning application.

We are currently a group 12 entrepreneurs collaborating together to create programs both pre and post relocation. We call ourselves Local Experts Helping Global Citizens. Many of us are expats ourselves. But we ALL work with expats in one way or another.
