We're looking for an Engineering Team Lead to head our Creator Platform team: a cross-functional team of developers owning a variable set of services spanning backend APIs, web frontend and our React Native app.

This is a hands-on engineering leadership role in our engineering organization, blending deep technical expertise with people leadership. You'll foster a culture of innovation and excellence, guide the team in delivering high-quality software, and keep us competitive by balancing innovation with the maintenance of existing systems - all while staying close to the code yourself.

What you'll do

• Team leadership and management: Lead a cross-functional team of developers, taking ownership of a variable set of services including backend APIs, web frontend and our React Native app.

• Hands-on technical leadership: Lead the team's technical implementations and solutions, and contribute continuously and meaningfully to our technical solutions and codebase.

• Mentorship and development: Actively mentor team members, promoting professional growth and facilitating opportunities for skill enhancement and career advancement.

• Quality and technical oversight: Ensure the team's technical approach is in line with company strategy and maintain high-quality standards for all software solutions, including sufficient test coverage and QA approval.

• Performance maximization: Drive the team to achieve maximum performance, ensuring team members take ownership and pride in their work.

• Team composition and dynamics: Shape the team through strategic hires and adjustments, ensuring the team structure supports the company's evolving needs and objectives.

• Innovation and maintenance: Balance innovation with the maintenance of existing systems, ensuring we stay ahead in a competitive landscape.

• Work processes: Design and implement efficient work processes and systems that enhance productivity and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality software.

We're looking for someone who 🌟

• Has 5+ years of software engineering experience across backend, web frontend and/or React Native – and wants to stay hands-on in the codebase.

• Has 2+ years leading or managing engineers, including performance management and career development.

• Has a track record of shipping consumer-facing products at scale, delivering predictably from planning through release.

• Has experience setting technical direction and driving engineering excellence: architecture, testing strategy, code health and QA rigor.

• Has experience hiring and shaping teams – recruiting, growing senior engineers and managing team dynamics.

• Balances innovation with keeping existing systems healthy, and owns outcomes against team goals and metrics.

• Partners effectively with Product, Design and Data to turn strategy into shipped software.

It would be a bonus if you have 🌟

• Experience with consumer products at scale.

• Experience across the full stack we run: backend APIs, web frontend and React Native app.

• Experience designing or improving engineering processes (agile ways of working, CI/CD, QA).
