Freelance Social Media Manager & Content Creator (Instagram)

Organic Basics is now seeking a freelance Social Media Manager & Content Creator to manage the day-to-day execution, organic growth and brand presence of our primary social media channel, Instagram. 

This role will focus on creating and publishing content that aligns with Organic Basics’ brand identity, while also responding to relevant social media trends in a way that feels on-brand.

This role is ideally suited for someone who already works independently as a freelance social media manager, content creator, or digital creative. You may also be a creator or influencer yourself, with a strong understanding of what performs on Instagram and how to create content that feels native to the platform.

You'll work closely with the Marketing and Creative teams to ensure social content supports broader campaigns, brand storytelling, and community engagement. 


Primary Responsibilities

Content Strategy

  • Develop monthly Instagram content plan aligned with the marketing calendar

  • Maintain and manage monthly Instagram content calendar

  • Identify and adapt relevant social trends into on-brand content

Content Creation

  • Capture content on-site at relevant events (e.g. fashion week, behind-the-scenes at photoshoots, team events, and other brand activations)

  • Create social-first Instagram content (reels, stories, and in-feed posts)

  • Handle basic photo and video editing for day-to-day content production

  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Creative teams on larger campaign assets and graphic-heavy posts

  • Ensure content is aligned with Organic Basics’ visual identity

Execution

  • Publish 5+ in-feed posts per week

  • Publish 5+ Instagram Stories per week

  • Increase posting frequency during campaign launches or key brand moments

  • Curate Instagram highlights

  • Update the link-in-bio structure

Community Management

  • Engage with Instagram comments, responding to positive interactions, while excluding customer service and technical inquiries (which will be handled internally)

Reporting

  • Track weekly performance metrics and report results in a shared cross-departmental spreadsheet

  • Provide a monthly performance report including insights, learnings, and recommendations

Deliverables

  • Content Calendar (Monthly) - Planned topics and publishing schedule

  • Instagram Posts & Reels (5+ per week) - A mix of campaign content, products and materials, sustainability, events, and UGC

  • Instagram Stories (5+ per week) - A mix of campaign content, products and materials, sustainability, events, and UGC

  • Performance Reporting (Weekly + Monthly) - Metrics tracking and insights

Success Metrics

  • Follower growth

  • Reach and impressions

  • Engagement rate

  • Consistency and quality of deliverables

  • Efficiency of cross-team collaboration

This role is not responsible for

  • Paid media management

  • Graphic design production 

  • Managing other social platforms (TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)

  • Customer service related comments and inquiries or support issues

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing Instagram for brands, with a track record of driving growth and engagement

  • Strong understanding of social media trends and platform best practices

  • Basic photo and video editing skills

  • Familiarity with editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe, or similar

  • Familiarity with Social Media Management platforms (Iconosquare, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar)

Preferred

  • Experience within fashion, lifestyle, or sustainability brands

Role Structure

This is a flexible freelance role focused on delivering agreed content outputs and maintaining a consistent publishing cadence.

Working hours and production schedule are flexible, as long as all deliverables are planned, produced, and published on time according to the agreed content calendar. You should be based in Copenhagen and available to create content onsite when needed. Travel and remote work are otherwise flexible.

You will report to the VP Brand & Marketing and work closely with the Marketing and Creative Design team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of Instagram, in close collaboration with the team on direction and priorities.
