Team & role overview

In this role you will become part of our Product Department. The Product Department is structured around three core teams: Activation, Wishing Experience, and Personalization. Each product team operates as a cross-functional unit consisting of a Product Manager, Product Designer, Tech Lead, and a dedicated group of backend and frontend developers. Together, we collaborate closely to design seamless, intuitive, and high-impact experiences for our users’ gifting journeys.

In the role as our new Backend Engineer you will become part of our Wishing Experience team. The team owns the end-to-end wish journey, from creation to purchase, and is responsible for making adding, buying, swapping, and reserving wishes seamless and intuitive, with a strong focus on user experience and reliability. This includes core product areas such as wish creation, wishlists, and search—foundational features that sit at the heart of the application.

Responsibilities:

Your main responsibilities includes:

• Designing and implementing features for creating, managing, and interacting with wishes.

• Developing, optimizing, and maintaining search and discovery functionality for wishes.

• Collaborating with UI/UX designers and frontend engineers to deliver an exceptional user experience.

• Taking ownership of the team’s backend services, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring reliability across the Wishing Experience domain.

What we’re looking for 🌟

We imagine that you have:

• NestJS or similar Nodejs Experience

• SQL experience

• Distributed systems and Microservices

• Ability to communicate design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• A collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to iterate and improve.
