Team & role overview
The Monetization team sits at the heart of GoWish’s business model. We build, own, and evolve the systems that translate user intent and product interaction into measurable, trustworthy value for our B2B partners. This includes advertiser-facing products, click tracking and attribution systems, and data platforms that power insights, optimization, and decision-making.

This team works closely with the commercial side of the business with a strong engineering mindset, actively experimenting with new monetization models, data products, and insights to unlock additional growth. We build long-lived systems where correctness, scalability, and thoughtful architecture are foundational - enabling the business to move fast without compromising trust or quality.
We are looking for both a Backend Engineer and a Senior Backend Engineer. As a Backend Engineer or Senior Backend Engineer in the Monetization team, you will own and evolve some of the most commercially critical systems at GoWish. These systems are deeply embedded in how the company makes money, and the decisions made here have real, visible impact.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for building, operating, and scaling backend systems that power:
The advertiser panel used by our B2B partners
GoWish’s affiliate tracking and attribution platform
DataHub APIs that expose trusted insights to internal teams and external partners
This is a true ownership role. You will take responsibility not only for application logic, but also for the entire infrastructure lifecycle, from architecture and deployment to monitoring, scaling, and long-term reliability.
You will initially take hands-on ownership of core systems, and over time transition from direct ownership into a more advisory role, as systems mature and other engineers gain confidence - while continuing to set technical direction, standards, and best practices.
What we’re looking for 🌟
We imagine that you have:
3–5+ years of experience building and owning complex backend systems in production
Proven experience taking responsibility for both backend services and the infrastructure they run on
Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and modern backend frameworks
Solid understanding of SQL databases and data-heavy backend systems
Experience designing and operating event-driven or distributed systems
A strong ownership mindset with a high bar for reliability, correctness, and clarity
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have:
Experience with tracking, attribution, analytics, or insight-driven platforms
Experience exposing analytical data through APIs
Performance optimization in high-throughput or high-integrity systems.
Additional Expectations for Senior Candidates:
Experience owning business-critical or revenue-impacting systems
Ability to drive architectural decisions and challenge assumptions constructively
Strong understanding of distributed systems, failure modes, and operational excellence
Experience mentoring other engineers and raising overall engineering standards
