About GoWish, Ønskeskyen ☁️

At GoWish, we’re building the world’s leading wish-list and social shopping platform — a place where you can make a real impact and have fun doing it.

We’re on a mission to reinvent gifting for millions. We win together, driven by curiosity, ownership, and bold ideas that turn into real products. We experiment cross-functionally, push for excellence, and keep things playful as we grow — together.

Team & role overview

As a BI Data Specialist, you will become part of our amazing Analytics team, and be a key driver of data-informed decision-making across GoWish.

You will act as an analytical partner to our business and product teams, proactively exploring data, answering complex questions, and helping stakeholders understand what is happening, why it is happening, and what to do next.

Your role will complement our existing Analytics Engineer & BI Specialist by leaning more heavily into exploratory analysis, product analytics, and business-facing insights, while still requiring experience with SQL, dbt, and analytical data modeling to ensure that insights are built on well-modelled, high-quality data, and that analytical logic is reusable, documented, and aligned with core business definitions.

Beyond delivering analysis, you will play an active role in driving data adoption across the organization. You will help teams build confidence in using data in their daily work - explaining insights, walking stakeholders through dashboards, challenging assumptions with evidence, and making complex analyses accessible and actionable.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a primary analytical partner for Product, Marketing, Finance, and other teams, translating business questions into structured analysis and clear insights

  • Perform exploratory and deep-dive analysis on user behaviour, product performance, experiments, and business KPIs using SQL, BI tools, and product analytics platforms such as Amplitude

  • Support product analytics and experimentation, including the design, execution, and interpretation of A/B tests

  • Help define, structure, and track core KPIs, ensuring consistent definitions across teams

  • Promote data literacy and adoption by sharing insights and helping stakeholders confidently use dashboards and analyses in everyday decision-making

  • Work hands-on with SQL and dbt to explore data, build or extend analytical models, and ensure insights are based on reliable, well-structured datasets

  • Contribute to data quality and trust across the analytics layer by identifying and resolving issues related to freshness, correctness, and logic

  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and documentation that enable self-service analytics and shared understanding

  • Improve analytical processes and best practices to help the team scale insights without adding complexity.

What we’re looking for 🌟

We imagine that you have:

  • 3+ years of experience in BI, Data Analysis, Analytics Engineering, or similar roles

  • Strong SQL skills and confidence working directly with raw and transformed data

  • Proven experience delivering actionable analysis and insights, not just reports

  • Experience with product analytics, experimentation, or user behaviour analysis

  • Hands-on experience with dbt or analytics engineering concepts, such as data modeling, testing, and documentation

  • Experience working in modern analytical stacks (BigQuery and BI tools)

  • Strong communication skills, able to explain insights and trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders

  • Curious, structured, and proactive mindset, you ask why, not just what.

Nice to have:

  • Experience supporting A/B testing frameworks or experimentation platforms

  • Experience working closely with product teams in a data-informed product environment

  • Familiarity with data quality checks and analytical testing in dbt

  • Experience defining metrics used across multiple teams

  • Experience with product analytics tools such as Amplitude, including building and interpreting dashboards.

GoWish, Ønskeskyen

GoWish was originally launched in 2015 as a wishlist gimmick by the national Danish-Swedish postal service, PostNord. In 2020, it was spun out by VC Dotcom Capital, and has since the launch of its international app GoWish in 2023 evolved into a global social shopping phenomenon. GoWish is a digital platform for wish lists and inspiration, where users can easily create wishes, as well as collect and share their wish lists and inspiration lists. With a large universe of inspiration, the app is a Social Shopping platform designed to inspire users to discover products, new ideas, and trends – and to add wishes directly in the app or from any online store. Users can create wish lists for birthdays, Christmas, weddings, and any other occasion, and share them with friends and family. In this way, GoWish serves as a social tool that makes it easy to find the perfect gift while avoiding duplicate gifts and unnecessary returns.
