Team & role overview

As our new senior data platform engineer you will become part og our engineering department and our data platform team.

Our engineering department is structured into eight teams, with the data platform team serving as a core enabling function across the company. As a senior data engineer on this team, you will help design, build, and operate the shared data platform that supports all engineering, product, analytics, and data science teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design and evolve data pipelines.

• Architect, build, and optimize scalable streaming and batch pipelines, defining reusable patterns and standards that are adopted across the organization.

• Build a self-service data platform.

• Develop platform capabilities, templates, and reference implementations that enable engineers, analysts, and product teams to work independently and safely with data.

• Ensure reliability and governance.

• Own data reliability through monitoring, schema management, data quality controls, and observability across pipelines and platforms.

• Act as a hands-on technical partner.

• Work closely with internal teams through co-engineering, peer programming, and technical reviews to solve complex operational and analytical problems.

• Drive enablement and maturity.

You will gradually transition from direct ownership to an advisory role as teams gain confidence, maturity, and autonomy—while continuing to set best practices and technical direction.

What We’re Looking For 🌟

We’re looking for a senior engineer who brings both strong technical depth and a platform mindset, including:

• Solid experience with cloud-native infrastructure and containerized workloads using Kubernetes, Docker, and GCP.

• Strong understanding of infrastructure as code (Terraform) and data modeling best practices.

• Proven experience building and operating streaming and batch data pipelines using tools such as Flink, Spark, or Beam.

• Confidence working with SQL and analytical ecosystems, including BigQuery, dbt, and familiarity with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau.

• Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
