We’re looking for a full time Food Safety & Quality Assurance Specialist to own food safety in R&D from concept to production, within the FSSC 22000 framework. 


Position overview 

As a food safety and quality assurance specialist, you’ll ensure the safety of our ingredients, products, and processes from development through production. Responsibilities include leading risk assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance, verifying shelf-life, and supporting quality systems for consistency and excellence. 

  • Reporting to: Head of R&D, with formal reporting into the quality function

 

Key Responsibilities 

Food Safety 

  • Obtain, maintain and uphold FSSC 22000 certification requirements. 

  • Lead risk assessment and approval of new raw materials, intermediates, finished products, and processes. 

  • Perform shelf-life/sensory analyses to guarantee safety and stability. 

Quality Assurance 

  • Maintain R&D QA systems for product consistency and compliance. 

  • Work with R&D to integrate safety & quality from idea to launch. 

  • Conduct internal sensory quality assessment of products to be released to market. 

Success Criteria 

  • Cross functional alignment to lift quality mindset across the company 

  • Capillary implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain quality standards within the REDUCED NPD framework 

  • Ensure quality compliance of all new fermentation processes 

  • Guarantee food safe and quality products at scale. 

  • Timely execution: delivery quality compliance documentation in support of new product launches and operational excellence. 


Qualifications 

  • Degree in Food Safety and Quality Management. 

  • Min 5 years of proven food safety & QA experience in fermentation and/or savoury ingredient production. 

  • Strong knowledge of FSSC 22000 or other GFSI standards.
