We're 1990 Studio, a digital product design studio founded in 2024 by Frederik and Kristian Wagner. We're currently four: an AI developer, iOS developer, digital product designer, and creative director. Each of us brings deep expertise from previous ventures, major tech companies, and creative work in healthtech.

Here's what we've figured out: You can live in one of the world's most liveable cities while working on the most ambitious tech projects. We serve North American startups building at the intersection of mobile and AI, think Silicon Valley-caliber projects. All while maintaining that Copenhagen work-life sanity.

What You'll Actually Do

You'll be our full-stack developer, working alongside Kristian to build AI-powered mobile features that feel genuinely magical. Some days you'll collaborate on complex applications, other days you'll own entire projects from concept to deployment. You'll prototype new ideas with our product designer, jump on client calls when your expertise is needed, and help shape the technical direction of products that thousands of users will depend on.

This isn't about building incremental improvements to enterprise software. You'll be creating the mobile experiences that define how people interact with AI in their daily lives.

What We're Looking For

Technical chops: You know Typescript inside and out, and you're comfortable with React and React Native for cross-platform work. You understand UI/UX principles not just as guidelines, but as tools for creating genuinely delightful experiences.

The eye: This is crucial. You can put yourself in a user's shoes and make judgment calls about what feels right. You have opinions about interface design, user flows, and feature priorities. You're not just implementing specifications, you're thinking about whether they're the right specifications in the first place.

Ownership mentality: You want projects where your fingerprints are all over the final product. You'd rather take full responsibility for something meaningful than contribute a small piece to something forgettable.

Physical presence: We believe the best work happens when smart people are in the same room bouncing ideas off each other. You should be based in Copenhagen or excited about relocating here (we'll help with that, including relocation support).

Experience level doesn't matter. Innate ability and curiosity do.

Compensation that reflects the work: Since we work with North American clients, our rates reflect that market. We're over-competitive for Denmark, and we don't tie compensation to years of experience.
