Job description:

This position is an integral part of both the Program department. It's not a traditional position, yet exciting. The candidate would be directly supporting the Head of Program to build the speaker and journalist activities and engagements at the TechBBQ Summit (and throughout the year). They will be key in shaping the thematic directions and content curation of the program whilst ensuring that the logistical elements for the event are secured. The candidate would be working closely with the PR + Communication department where there are overlaps to ensure that there is seamless coordination where no information is lost along the way. In addition to this, the candidate would be working on the match-making process between Speakers and Journalists leading up to and during the event.

Responsibilities:

• Researching and staying up-to-date with the latest tech & startup trends and developments.

• Assist in speaker outreach and management.

• Create concepts and interesting conversation points for keynotes, panels & fireside chats.

• CRM management of all relevant stakeholders.

• Logistics & coordination, i.e. updating records, organizing travel arrangements, event-day logistics where the program is concerned, and building the schedule in our event platform.

• Managing a team of volunteers pre and during the event.

• Leading the speaker nominations platform and communication funnel.

• Attend relevant events in the startup & tech ecosystem when time permits. 

Preferred key skills: 

• Ability to juggle between different tasks and subject areas effectively whilst connecting the dots between the two.

• Experience in research and writing short to long text.

• Experience with CRM systems (customer relations management) and managing a variety of stakeholders.

• Strong organizational skills are needed.

• Self-motivated and results-orientated.

• Great communication and confidence in networking skills (both online and in-person).

• Ability to connect and build relationships with diverse profiles across industries.

• Can work well under pressure.

• A plus if you have experience in events and a structured approach. 

• Fluency in English - both written and spoken

• Background in the social sciences, PR & Communication or entrepreneurial studies preferred.
