Who we are

We are an ambitious deep-tech robotics startup based in Copenhagen. We are developing mobile robots to assist nurses by automating the transport of small items in hospital wards. We are looking for a Robotics Engineer to support the development of our first mobile robots. You will work with our mobile robots to mature our navigation stack and ensure it works safely and robustly in hospitals - dynamic environments, that are constantly changing.

Your responsibilities

This position is focused on software, but experience and passion for hardware are always appreciated. Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Code solutions in C++ and Python, with a focus on tests and good software design.

  • Robot navigation: Take the lead in maturing and enhancing our navigation software.

  • Robot localization: Developing a robust system from localization in dynamic environments by combining classical SLAM approaches with AI and computer vision.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot our current software stack.

  • Design and conceptualization of new software features.

The responsibilities will not be limited to these areas. Based on your experience and ambition, you can take on different challenges.

Qualifications

We expect that you will bring the following skills to our team:

  • Experience coding in C++, preferably at a production level quality.

  • Experience developing robotic solutions with ROS - preferably ROS2.

  • Experience working in Linux.

  • Experience with sensor technologies and simulation frameworks.

  • You are fluent in both spoken and written English.

  • Hold a Master’s degree in Robotics Engineering, Autonomous Systems, or similar

Personal skills

We expect that you:

  • are a collaborator, who values working in a team - but you also have the mindset and discipline to work independently on your own responsibilities.

  • take a positive view: no job too big, no job too small

  • are not afraid to take the lead

  • like to get challenged, and have the ability to work in a startup - where the environment is dynamic and agile.🙌

What we offer

  • Great opportunities for individual development

  • Being part of an international team where you work with fast iterations.

  • Our team is currently based at DTU Skylab in Lyngby. Thus, you will have access to the DTU startup ecosystem and facilities!🙌

  • We would like you to become part of our little community and work together. However, we are open to flexible and remote working hours.

Working at
Yuman

Yuman is an ambitious Copenhagen-based startup addressing one of the major challenges facing healthcare - the shortage of nurses. Yuman has been recognised as the TOP robotics startup in Europe in 2022, and received the Best Startup of the Year Award by Odense Robotics in 2023. Our goal is to free up nurses from simple, but time-consuming tasks so they can focus on care tasks that require a personal touch. To achieve this, we are developing innovative mobile robots that assist nurses as their own "transport buddies" by automating the delivery of food, medicine and laundry in hospital wards. Our robots are currently operating in two Danish hospitals, assisting nurses around the clock.
