Sustainability Project Coordinator

Salary Competitive

The fashion industry is the second most polluting industry in the world. Do you want to play an active role in changing that? We’re looking for people who care deeply about our planet and want to help create the change they want to see in the world. We truly believe we can learn a bunch of skills – but we can’t teach passion.

We're not only a direct-to-consumer brand – we're an organisation with a purpose to be proactive in finding new solutions that address our climate crisis and inspire lasting change across our industry. Courage and teamwork are crucial to this. That's why we take a holistic and activist approach to sustainability which is deeply rooted in data. To support us in our mission, we are looking for a project coordinator to join our sustainability team.

What you will do:

Conduct research and data analysis on the environmental impact of Organic Basics

Calculating our environmental footprint is a key part of our business. You will conduct research on methodologies, collect data from our suppliers and calculate our carbon footprint in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

Translate impact data into engaging content

Carbon emissions are a key KPI for us. We make emissions an integral part of Organic Basic’s customer journey. You will support us with finding ways to communicate our impact in an engaging way to our customers.

Building a roadmap to carbon negativity

For us, it’s about so much more than offsetting our carbon footprint. We want to reach net-zero value-chain emissions – in line with the latest climate research to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. You will help with identifying opportunities to reduce our footprint throughout our entire value chain.

Managing our product and company certifications

We’re all about backing up the claims that we make – and that’s why we invest a lot in ensuring our products and business as a whole are certified. For example, our products are GOTS- and GRS-certified. Since 2019, we’re a certified B Corporation. You’ll help us to keep up to date, implement projects to increase our score and to get re-certified.

Who we are looking for:

You care deeply about our planet

We’re looking for someone who is super passionate about our planet and wants to help create the change you would like to see in the world. You have a degree and/or practical experience in environmental science, environmental engineering, climate change, nature management, global development, or similar.

You believe data is integral to build solutions to tackle climate change

You’re analytical and like to get nerdy about developing solutions in line with the latest climate science. You don’t mind reading a bunch of scientific papers and together with other teams translate this into an engaging format that both our customers can understand.

You’re a true team player

We believe it’s vital to work collaboratively to find solutions to the sustainability challenges we face – we can’t do it alone. You have strong problem solving, stakeholder management and communication skills. You’re eager to make a difference with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.

We are committed to creating a diverse environment and highly encourage absolutely everyone to apply for the position, regardless of national origin, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, genetics, disability or age.

Applications are reviewed on a continuous basis. We can't wait to hear from you!

Start date: As soon as possible.
