DANSIC IS LOOKING FOR ITS NEW EVENT DESIGN DIRECTOR!

Are you interested in gaining experience leading a team of volunteers working in event planning? Do you want to motivate the volunteers of DANSIC and develop their social and professional skills – as well as your own? And would you like to be responsible of DANSIC’s next main event? Then you are probably the one we are looking for.

 

DANSIC is a non-profit organization that explores the opportunities and challenges of social innovation and entrepreneurship. This year DANSIC21 brings its focus on the triad of technology, entrepreneurship and design, with a collaborative project between the Nordics and the African Continent. Portraying the idea of empowering African and Danish youth, DANSIC will be working in cooperation with “Ambitious Africa”, a progressive organization that is currently expanding throughout Scandinavia.

 

As a volunteer in DANSIC, you will be part of an ambitious group of volunteers from various universities, nationalities, and professional backgrounds, all caring about technology and entrepreneurship.

 

In DANSIC we value creativity, diversity, and peer-to-peer learning. Moreover, we put an emphasis on socializing together over casual pizzas, Friday bars, Christmas lunches, etc.

 

THE LOGISTICS CREW

The Logistics Crew applies to the planning and execution of the final event of DANSIC21, and puts ideas into direct action, while including a cross-section of relevant partners and providers. The Logistics Crew’s role is to make sure that this year’s event runs smoothly and that it corresponds to our mission. As the Event Design Director in DANSIC, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage the Logistics Crew, and be responsible, with the other volunteers, for the coordination of our annual event and that DANSIC ends up with a positive result in the end.

 

 As an Event Design Director you will be responsible for:

  • Developing the content and event program for DANSIC21 together with the board;

  •  Managing the Logistics crew;

  •  Making sure our idea and program planning matches the end goal;

  • Generating ideas and searching for various themes and formats;

  •  Planning and coordinating our yearly event;

  • Collaborating hand in hand with the Finance Director and our Communications Department to solve budget and communications issues;

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You are currently a student or recent graduate with some previous experience in planning or participating in case competitions;

  • You live in Denmark;

  • You have a desire to work in event planning, and support social innovation;

  • You are solution-oriented and have strong communication skills;

  • You should have a good eye for detail, be updated on social trends and have a creative flair;

  • You should be ready to lead a small but ambitious team of volunteers.

    This position is unpaid!

As a volunteer in DANSIC it is important that you are available to:

  • Attend the weekly evening meeting in your crew;

  • Undertake some ad hoc tasks during the week;

  • Attend the monthly social day for all of DANSIC's volunteers;

  • Be a part of DANSIC from fall 2020 until late spring 2021, when our Annual General Meeting will be held.
