We developed a lightweight acoustic piano and strive to optimize our design for manufacturing and production in general, to catch the attention of the many piano enthusiasts out there that prefer acoustic sound and value practicality and affordability. You will get the chance to work with modern production methods and see your ideas turn into real life solutions on a challenging and versatile product that enables great design expression balancing tradition and modernity.

Keybird Instruments APS is a start-up developing a lightweight acoustic piano, which we aim to have the practicality and affordability of a digital piano without giving up on the acoustic sound and authentic feeling of the keys. We believe that musical expression through the use of acoustic instruments is so valuable that there should be more affordable and practical alternatives on the market. Currently we are in the production development phase and have already pre-sold a great deal of instruments. Many things are happening at the moment, so if you like the process of starting a company and all the little side things that happen in such a process, that will be to your advantage. 

Our mission is to bring diversity and accessibility to the world of acoustic pianos. We are convinced that the acoustic piano can intrigue many enthusiasts with the way it is constructed, which has led us to the design philosophy of form follows function and construction elements being visible rather than covered. We want to open the black box many pianos currently still seem to be. 

After a solid introduction to certain parts of the functionality and production philosophy you will work with optimizing processes "by doing" in combination with design, CAD, CAM and CNC of new production aids and methods.

You are expected to be a self-starter, willing to learn to work with CAD and CNC, ideally already having experience with this. This is our field of expertise and we can help you.

We are flexible on the timeline of the internship however we expect a minimum of 3 months. The right person will be offered a continued employment.
