Alvar Pet is a Helsinki-based startup on a mission to minimise the carbon pawprint. Dog ownership is rapidly growing – this year, there are more puppies born in Finland than babies. Dogs have become our family members, and we are ready to invest in them: the money spent in pets has more than doubled within the last decade. We worry about where the pet industry is heading. Dogs are pampered with more and more stuff, and fed with meatier food than necessary. Opulence doesn’t make a dog any happier, and the overconsumption happens at the expense of the environment. Pups bring so much joy to our everyday. That’s why owning a dog should not be a choice against the climate – and that’s why we founded Alvar. We founded Alvar to joint together the growing popularity of pets and the growing popularity of eco-aware lifestyles. The Solution to Our Time’s Flood of Pictures Lies in Photo Books. We are living in a time where we take more pictures than ever before. However, it is also a time where we no longer have them developed or spend time looking at them together. This has the team behind the Danish company SubBook come up with a solution to. They have made it easy to get the photo books back in the living rooms, so that friends and family can gather around the pictures and look back at all of their greatest memories together. And now they are expanding to the international market. The team has developed a photo book app called SubBook, which allows users to collect pictures from both Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox, and the iPhone camera roll to make simple photo books as easy as possible. They have made it with a particular focus on a user-friendly experience, so that people can both create and order their photo books while grocery shopping or in the bus on the way home from work. Because the team would like to spread the joy of perpetuated memories and the possibility to make simple, personalized, and cheap photo books to even more people, they now have entered the international market. In doing so they have also launched their website and app in English versions, while their photo books are delivered to all of Europe. With a sustainable aim. As the team wishes to give something back to the resources they use in their production, SubBook has joined in with the organization One Tree Planted. This collaboration means that a tree is planted every time a customer orders three books using the SubBook app. The team care a great deal about the traces they leave on our Earth and because of this, they only use paper qualities complying with international environmental requirements. This also means that their customers can order books with a clean and green conscience. For now, the SubBook app only works with iPhones, but as a part of their international launch the team is working tirelessly on developing an app for Android users, so that many more can join in on getting pictures out of the phones and into the photo books.

CAMAR is a new innovative Danish software company founded in March 2017 that now works in an international context (currently Denmark, Sweden, U.S.A., UK and Latvia). CAMAR has nine highly skilled active owners, two FTE and in process of expanding the organisation. CAMAR has invented a technology `TacTile Pinpoint´ that enables existing touch devices to provide tactile feedback while “hoover” with a finger over a screen. In April 2018, we granted the US patent for its technical fundament and it continues to develop worldwide patent applications. The first edition of Software Development Kit (SDK) is in place and demo app prepared and about to start PoC projects with international companies. CAMAR’s proprietary and patented technology “TacTile PinPoint” uses vibration to dramatically increase the tactile feedback from touchscreens, affording users a much more intuitive experience, while reducing the need to look at the touchscreen. TacTile PinPoint enables a much safer interaction with touchscreens, especially in situations where a moment’s distraction can have disastrous consequences, such as driving or operating machinery.

Make Influence is the first performance driven influencer marketplace in Denmark, helping b2c marketers and ecommerce brands managing influencer marketing campaigns at scale through the power of data and technology. Influencer marketing is a 10 billion dollar industry, with millions of collaborations between brands and creators being created each year. However, it is still often associated with lack of transparency when it comes to pricing and performance, making it hard for marketers to trust it can be used as a serious performance marketing channel. At the same time, influencers still lack the tools to manage their work efficiently and effectively on their own. We are here to change that! Our goal is to make influencer marketing transparent, fair and effective, creating an environment where influencers and marketers can come to trust each other and create amazing collaborations together. All of this, while having some fun! We are building just this: a marketplace for influencer, where marketers can see all important metrics before reaching out to them, and when they find the right fit, agree on performance based compensation. This way, influencers get paid for what they deliver in real business value, and brands have the piece of mind of not throwing money out of the window. The platform is based upon an affiliate tracking system that allows us to know exactly how many impressions, clicks and sales is any piece of sponsored content generating. This is shown in real time to both the influencer and the brand through dashboards. At the end of each month, we pay the influencer what they are due. Automatically. With this model, we have helped over 200 brands generating 100'000'000 DKK in revenue through influencers collaborations, and over 14'000'000 in commission paid to over 1000 influencers. But we are not stopping here: in the next year we plan to expand outside of Denmark, launch new campaign types and develop the product further to accomodate even more user types. We want to become the leading marketplace for learning languages 1-on-1. We're based in Denmark, but most of our customers are outside of the country. Our online tutorial platform brings students & teachers together, so they can learn from each other no matter where they are.

The Pitch SignLab helps families that need to learn sign language or sign-assisted communication to communicate The What Parents to children who are severely hard of hearing or deaf need to learn sign language to communicate. Today, only 1 in 4 parents to deaf children in high-income countries manage to learn sign language. In low-income countries, it is believed to be less than 1 in 10. Families with individuals that benefit from sign-assisted communication face the same challenge. These include the parents to children with Down Syndrome, severe autism or Cerebral palsy. The How An international learning platform for sign languages and sign-assisted communication. The SignLab learning platform is fully digital and can incorporate new languages within weeks. The user only needs access to a smartphone or a computer. The platform makes it fun and easy to learn through gamification and timed encouragement. To ensure that the user gets the most out of every learning session, our review functionality incorporates an AI that knows what signs you are about to forget. The AI then designs a learning session that is tailored to the individual user’s need. Our curriculum is designed in cooperation with sign language teachers in each language. The platform launched in open beta in Norway November 2018. Feedback from parents and sign language teachers gave it a NPS of +64. The platform saw exponential growth with an average growth rate of 276% each month for the first three months (Nov-Feb). This growth all came from word of mouth, $0 spent on marketing. The Why Today less than 10% of the 64 million parents to deaf and hard of hearing children know sign language due to the low availability of education centers. Exclusion from communication have a significant impact on everyday life, causing feelings of loneliness, isolation, and frustration. The inability to properly communicate have a significantly adverse effect on the academic performance of children. SignLab works towards a society where all families have access to teaching themself, their children and their community signs and sign language so that everyone can feel included.
