APIZ is a Danish legal intelligence platform built to strengthen the rule of law by making legal information more accessible, transparent and useful.
Today, only approximately 0.5% of judicial and administrative decisions become publicly accessible case law. This severely limits transparency, makes legal research unnecessarily difficult and creates unequal access to knowledge about how the law is applied in practice. Access to the law should not be controlled by a small number of commercial gatekeepers, and no private actor should hold a de facto monopoly over essential legal information.
Our ambition is to build a more open and comprehensive legal infrastructure for lawyers, legal professionals, businesses and the public. APIZ brings together legislation, consolidated acts, executive orders, administrative guidance, circulars, judgments, decisions and preparatory works in one connected platform.
Behind the product is an advanced technical system that enriches legal texts with structure, version history, citations, relationships, metadata and source provenance. This makes it possible to connect legislation with relevant case law, preparatory works, amendments and cross-references while preserving the link to the authoritative source.
APIZ uses algorithms and specialised scoring models to evaluate relevance, legal authority, temporal validity and the relationship between sources. These systems are designed to improve search precision and support sound legal methodology—not to replace professional legal judgment.
Users can search across legal sources, explore the development of legislation, identify related materials and ask legal questions in natural language. Answers must be precise, source-based and supported by clear citations, allowing the user to inspect the underlying legal authority.
Our goal is simple: to reduce the distance between a legal question and a verifiable answer, broaden access to case law and contribute to a more transparent and effective justice system.
