Furberg Snowboards was founded because of the lack of innovation in the snowboard industry, and Sogndal is the ideal place for us to further the development of freeride snowboards.

Ulike spesialiserte virksomheter leveret komponenter til stolen, som deride ben, massive seter, spiler og buer til ryggene. Sammenstillingen foregikk hos andre virksomheter – og på samme måte som produsenter I dag jobbet de I et nettverk av spesialiserte leverandører for å oppnå best mulig sluttresultat. Vi er to gründere som utvikler et nytt produkt rettet mot "båtliv" og fritidsbruk.  Produktet er rettet mot sikkerhet og livredning. Under halvparten av dagens båtbrukere bruker flytevest, til tross for at det ble påbudt i 2015. Dette er et problem vi ønsker å ta tak i. Vi mener dagens løsninger for "flytevester" er for tungvinte og vårt produkt har dermed i hensikt i å senke terskelen for å ta i bruk livreddende utstyr på sjøen. Vi har fått støtte av Innovasjon Norge til fase 1 og  2. Vi er to brødre som begge er 24 år gamle, begge studerer ved Handelshøyskolen BI, og begge har operativ erfaring fra Forsvaret.
