Hamide

We are a Copenhagen based design studio working at the intersection of design, art, and technology. We create our own collections under Hamide brand,  offer design consultancy service, and create spin-off projects. Our design process values empathic creativity, in other words, we love walking in others’ shoes with a creative mind.  We are currently working on one of our spin-off projects, Bookworm, aiming to create a democratic digital library experience. We are hoping to expand our team. We are two sisters, who took the tragic course of events in our lives to create something beautiful and empowering. We started our studio to honor our mother Hamide, who was a designer but never had the recognition she deserved, and passed away after a long battle with an atypical Parkinson's disease. So, Hamide Design Studio, is a serious matter for us, it is very personal yet we are very professional.  We are ambitious,  hardworking, and persistent. We love design profession for its power to change the world for the better. We have both intense days at work filled with creativity or just boring office work, and also light days as well. We know when to take a break and celebrate. Luckily our studio is located right next to Sønder Boulevard. We have some studio values and rules. Be genuine, hardworking, recycle, clean after, don't waste resources, be a humanitarian, be welcoming, and such. So, we try to be decent people and expect our partners to be such.

Our flagship innovation, ChickBumin®, is a high-performance chickpea protein powder engineered to replace egg white and albumin in large-scale food production. ESEBA

ESEBA, a deep tech startup from DTU, transforms low-quality textile waste into MDF boards without binders or formaldehyde. We offer a sustainable, non-toxic alternative to traditional wood-based panels. Textile waste is a massive and growing problem in Europe – less than 1% is recycled into new products, and most ends up incinerated. At the same time, formaldehyde regulations are tightening, and deforestation pressures are increasing demand for alternatives to virgin wood. ESEBA’s mission is to enable local, circular board production through a scalable, plug-and-produce production line for furniture manufacturers.

Behold

Behold helps animals change people. Our technology turns everyday wildlife encounters into moments of discovery. It meets people where they are, whether at home, on their devices, or in their communities. It shifts how they see nature and their role in it. It is entertainment with a purpose, designed to inspire and influence behaviour in subtle but meaningful ways. But we are not just here to tell stories. We are building a network of thousands of garden cameras, creating the largest database of residential wildlife sightings. A powerful tool for conservation, citizen science, and understanding the changing natural world. Our first product, Behold Cam-1, became a massive success on Kickstarter – hitting its funding goal in under 2 hours, and raising almost $400k in pre-orders. We're now bringing that product to market. It’s an opportunity to join at the earliest stages—with all the challenges and rewards that come with it.

Caspian Coworking

Knitspot

Knitstop is a slow fashion project where finest natural materials and best craftsmanship meet contemporary sustainable designs, while unemployed skilful female artisans with immigrant background from Helsinki get a chance to get integrated economically and be empowered for their passion for crafts. Our summer collections consist of palm raffia and recycled T-shirt yarn bags, while in winter we concentrate on stylish and warm alpaca and angora beanies and super popular functional alpaca hoods. In 2024 we aimed to test and launch new revenue generating channels to ensure stable profit and growth during mid (march-may) and low (june-august) seasons: offline workshops and courses in Helsinki and online sales of digital products (tutorials, patterns, courses). We plan to concentrate on development, promotion and sales of our digital products based on existing patterns currently used by our knitters for manufacturing as this channel allows the project to scale and grow internationally. The core issue that Knitspot addresses lies within the broader crisis of modern fast fashion: average content of natural fibers in a fast fashion “woollen sweater” is just between 0-4%, supply chain is shady, production is run in countries with cheapest possible labour, quality is horrible, unwanted stuff is wasted. The downturns of the existing mass market system simply do not fit the criteria of mindful consumers. Our mission is to create a vibrant, DIY-fashion and sustainable knitwear brand that offers exclusive, limited-edition physical goods and one-of-a-kind knitwear design patterns. We are dedicated to fostering slow fashion principles by providing expert consultancy and offering both online and offline learning experiences for individuals and companies, including team-building events and therapeutic crafting sessions. Our goal is to cultivate a close-knit community of sustainable fashion enthusiasts and crafters, spreading joy and happiness through fiber crafts and the art of creative slow living.

We want to help companies become more efficient and aware of what happens on a cloud journey

Blend

Blend is a mission-led start-up which believes business should be a force for social good. Blend works with social enterprises who employ and uplift marginalized women from patriarchal villages in India to bring elegant products to the urban buyer in Nordics. Our main product line is carpets hand-made with natural materials such as wool, jute, silk and recycled PET. The carpets are made with the same superior weaving technique of Persian carpets but have simple and neutral designs which suit the Nordic design sensibility. By promoting handmade products by marginalized women Blend can impact 11 out of 17 UN SDG goals. We launched in Q2 and already have our products in boutique store in North of Copenhagen. Once we establish market connects, Blend wants to connect designers from Denmark and other Nordic countries to production centers in these rural villages to blend the functional Nordic design with 5000 years old artisanal talent of India. In future, Blend will also explore tech-based leasing options for its high-end home furnishing range. We believe that everyone should be able to upgrade home furnishings without giving-in to consumerism and impacting mother nature adversely. Blend is founded by Shakti, an Indian who has lived in Denmark and worked at many Senior Director level positions in Danish companies like Mæersk, Deloitte and Rambøll. Through Blend, Shakti hopes to bring functional Danish design closer to the 5000 years old artisanal talent of India. When one wholeheartedly loves two countries so diametrically opposite to each other, then it’s impossible to hold back from exploring what a blend of these 2 cultures can offer to the world. Her desire to contribute to women empowerment through livelihood is rooted in her own experience and observation of how girls are still seen as a liability in many rural areas. She spoke about it on the award-winning BBC podcast –Dear Daughter: You are wanted https://open.spotify.com/episode/1FX2Gz0o2TSTG7Ymva9YVz?si=3FcvDo9QQ0GBtOg9MNth2Q
