People living with diabetes and the healthcare sector currently spend billions on continuous glucose measurement (CGM) sensors. Despite the ease and convenience of use, patients and their caregivers are currently drowning in data generated by CGM since we still lack digital tools to generate automated analyses and interpretations. Digital Diabetes Analytics ( DD Analytics) provides a state of the art automated digital solution which analyzes CGM data and generates systematic interpretations to truly transform diabetes care – Diabetes 3.0. We are developing a never before seen digital tool for people with insulin-treated diabetes and the healthcare sector. Our decision support tool generates automated analysis including root-cause interpretations of CGM based on machine learning algorithms. Recent technical advances with CGM make it possible to map all glucose fluctuations. However, there are currently no tools available for analyzing all the data which constitute a major challenge for both the affected individual and the healthcare sector. For the individual, the amount and continuous nature of the data make it nearly impossible to systematically make adequate adjustments of the insulin treatment. For the healthcare sector, the introduction of CGM has resulted in an avalanche of data to interpret which can consist of 50.000 data points for each patient at each visit. Our ambition is to solve this major hurdle and provide the digital tools needed to truly transform diabetes care. During the last few years we had been noticing that there is an increasing amount of youngsters on e.g. Facebook, who offer themselves for helping with small tasks such as lawn mowing and pet sitting. They indeed are the heroes of work, but we started wondering, is there anyway we could help them to get more out of their spare times, so that they really can enjoy their lives.
