Emberly is a Stavanger-based startup founded in 2020. The company was born out of a desire to help people learn better and to help them manage information overload. Our product is a knowledge library, but in contrast to other solutions, we help you organize your knowledge into what we call "knowledge maps". Traditional solutions based on tags and search are not adequate due to the simple fact that it requires using the language center of the brain, this requires you to break your chain of thought before you can even start looking for your resources. Emberly in contrast, lets you use spatial navigation to find what you are looking for. Which is far more efficient.Not to mention the fact that by creating and using this breakdown of topics, you automatically gain a far better understanding of the concepts you are working on. We have been working tightly knit with our community for two years to help us make Emberly the best experience it can be, and we officially released the system in 2022.

Bile duct cancer is an aggressive form of cancer with an extremely poor overall five-year survival rate of just 2-5 %. Classified as an orphan disease, annual incidence in Europe and the United States of 15-22,000 patients, and a significantly higher incidence in Asia, makes it a major player and the deadliest of the gastrointestinal cancers. Only a small number of patients are eligible for a complete surgical resection by local resection or liver transplantation, and more than 50% of these relapse. The vast majority are treated by gemcitabine-based palliative chemotherapy with a life expectancy of 11 months, and five-year survival rate of zero %. Thus, there is an urgent and unmet medical need to develop new and better treatment strategies for these patients. The innovations developed by Seald are a result of adopting a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of bile duct cancer, based on extensive drug sensitivity assays on living cancer cells, molecular biomarkers, DNA sequencing, extensive bioinformatics analyses and zebrafish models. Sealds’s holistic approach is unique with possible modes of action that can be used on other solid cancers. Our technology includes drug repurposing and innovation on new medical substances, diagnostics and methodology. The stipulated pharma market globally is USD 2.1-4.2 billion, in addition to the markets for diagnostics and platform technology

EpiGuard AS is an innovative Norwegian Medical Technology Company established in 2015 by a group of doctors at the Oslo University Hospital (OUS) together with co-founders Inven2, Eker Group AS, and Hansen Protection AS. EpiGuard has evolved into a highly skilled knowledge-based company. The business model is to develop and manufacture high-end medical equipment for the safe transport of contagious patients. The products will be distributed globally through strategic partners. Currently, the main product is the medical isolation and transportation system, EpiShuttle. The system is developed by clinical experts at OUS, with first-hand experience in providing advanced treatment and transportation of patients with highly infectious diseases, such as Ebola.

New drugs for treating diseases of Down syndrome. More than 1% of the global GDP is spent on nursing demented people, and the number requiring nursing will triple within 2050. The disease is progressive, leading to death. There is no current cure available, only symptomatic treatments. Individuals born with Down syndrome have a more than 10x risk of developing dementia as well as a host of other diseases including diabetes. Our drug target, DYRK1A is an enzyme found on chromosome 21, and is considered a key factor determining developmental and medical challenges faced by individuals with Down. The enzyme interacts with multiple biological mechanisms involved in Alzheimer’s and autoimmune diseases. Advanced drug designUsing advanced drug design technologies, we have designed a potent DYRK1A inhibitor drug, PST-900. A use and substance of matter patent have been applied for. The company is currently working on chemical Lead Optimisation with 8 full-time medicinal chemists contracted.Financing and milestonesThe Company raised NOK 5 million in 2015 and 8.8 MNOK in 2016/2017, matching non-dilutive research (BIA) and business grants (Innovation Norway). We demonstrated Proof of Principle in a model system for Alzheimer’s disease in 2Q2016. We have also demonstrated that our drug is capable of reversing diabetes in an animal model. Together with clinical and regulatory advisors, we have identified an important unmet need for a drug to treat newly diagnosed diabetes. We will use this indication to quickly progress to market and from there develop analogous drug molecules in Alzheimer’s disease, focused especially in Down syndrome. Funding soughtThe current funding round will raise 15+ MNOK to fund the progression to the final Development Candidate during 2018. This gives a better foundation in communication and helps increase the quality of life for the user. Our philosophy is to use "everyday technology" such as tablets/phones and cloud-based solutions and develop highly intuitive and dynamic tools for the network. Users (people with special and complex needs) therefore do not need to acquire skills or knowledge in order to use our systems. This makes it easier for those who have great cognitive challenges to make use of our technological solutions.

Konseptet retter seg mot tre målgrupper: 1) I samarbeid med Visit Lillehammer og Mølla Hotell kjører vi et pilotprosjekt mot MICE markedet på Lillehammer. Aktivitetsbyen Lillehammer kan tilby dette lille ekstra som tilfører kurset eller konferansen aktivitet, humor og bevegelse som deltakerne tar med seg tilbake til hverdagen. Vi legger til side alt prestasjonspress og finner tilbake til gleden over å bevege på seg og godfølelsen som gjør oss bedre rustet til å tåle stress og jag. 2) Bedrifter som tar bedriftenes bærekraft-mål på alvor. De ansattes fysiske og psykiske helse får en naturlig plass i hverdagen ved å inkludere Bevegelses Magi som et tiltak for å bedre de ansattes helse 3) Barn og unge er en gruppe som er spesielt utsatt og hvor prestasjonspresset kan stenge mange ute fra aktivitet. Bevegelses Magi for barn og unge legger aktivitet og mestring på et nivå som er tilpasset deres behov og ulikheter. Homeboxx is a convenient box for private homes or workplaces for the delivery of goods ordered from online stores regardless of the recipient's home or not. The Box is equipped with an electronic lock to keep the groceries safe and protected at all times. The box will have insulation material and may also have an active cooling or heating system to ensure different temperature zones, chilled and normally for temperature-sensitive goods like food. An app is included in the box to communicate with the end user, carrier, and the online store.
