Grundlagt for fire år siden af Kristina Andersen, drevet af hendes personlige erfaringer med sønnen Elliots alvorlige allergiske reaktioner, har virksomheden vokset sig fra et hjemmebaseret initiativ til et omfattende lager i Roskilde. Kristinas motivation til at starte Astma Allergi Shoppen stammer fra de udfordringer og mangler, hun stødte på i sin søgen efter allergivenlige produkter. Hun indså, at mange produkter, der markedsføres som "allergivenlige", faktisk ikke lever op til dette løfte. Virksomheden startede med en investering på 40.000 kroner og gode leverandøraftaler. Fra at købe kun et par stykker af hvert produkt, er Astma Allergi Shoppen nu vokset til at bestille store mængder, hvilket afspejler den stigende efterspørgsel og kundetilfredshed. Oprindeligt hjemmebaseret, flyttede virksomheden først til et lille lager i Hillerød og derefter til det nuværende store lager i Roskilde. Ud over at levere produkter, engagerer virksomheden sig også i projekter for at forbedre arbejdsmiljøet i hjemmeplejen og hos virksomheder. Virksomheden arbejder på at udvikle sine egne produkter, såsom kemifrie madrasser, for at imødekomme et marked med begrænsede muligheder. Astma Allergi Shoppen har opnået en betydelig omsætning, og Kristina sigter efter endnu højere mål i de kommende år, inklusive en potentiel Gazelle-pris. Appen blev oprindeligt udviklet til kræftpatienter på baggrund af erfaringer som sygeplejerske, men understøtter i dag også diagnoser som migræne, diabetes og hjerte-kar-sygdomme. Mange patienter føler sig alene imellem behandlingerne og savner nogen, der virkelig forstår deres situation. Sundhedsvæsenet har sjældent ressourcer til at tilbyde kontinuerlig følelsesmæssig støtte. Det efterlader mange uden den støtte, de har brug for i hverdagen, og det påvirker både livskvalitet, tryghed og deres mulighed for at mestre sygdomsforløbet. Grupperne er små, trygge, lukkede digitale grupper baseret på alder, køn, diagnose og eventuelt prognose. Det første forløb fandt sted i det medicinske brystkræftambulatorium, og det andet på Afdelingen for Kræftbehandling. Testforløbene viste, at 88 % savnede et fællesskab og oprettede sig med det samme, og at 54 % oplevede mindre ensomhed efter at være blevet en del af BeSammen. Forløbene viste også, at BeSammen bliver opfattet som et trygt og fortroligt sted, hvor man kan dele tanker, erfaringer og støtte hinanden på egne præmisser. Vores mål er at gøre fællesskabsstøtte tilgængelig, skalerbar og personlig på tværs af diagnoser – og samtidig aflaste sundhedsvæsenet ved at tilbyde en støtteform, der komplementerer behandlingen og frigiver tid til kerneopgaverne.
