We are looking for a founding member / potential co-founder of Koonta. Koonta is an early-stage healthtech startup that emerged from the everyday life of primary healthcare. The problem we solve is familiar to many healthcare professionals: medication-related information is often fragmented, difficult to find and time-consuming to understand. This increases cognitive load in situations where a professional should be able to form the big picture quickly and safely. Koonta’s goal is to make finding essential medication-related information clearer and faster. This is not “just any startup” for us. It is driven by genuine clinical pain and a mission to make everyday healthcare safer, smoother and less stressful. We are now looking for someone who, once funding is secured, could take on a full-time venture lead / commercial co-founder role at Koonta. The role could suit someone with experience or strong potential in, for example, one of the following: - healthtech / medtech / digital health - B2B SaaS - startup operations / venture building - business development / partnerships - customer discovery / pilot opening - healthcare IT / public health - pharmacy, pharmaceutical or other healthcare environment The most important thing is not a perfect CV, but strong ownership, learning ability, commercial thinking, the ability to make things happen and a genuine interest in solving a meaningful healthcare problem. This is not a regular paid job at this stage, but a founder-level opportunity. A significant role would include a significant, vested share of the company. Tropical hurricanes are generated when masses of cold and warm air collide. And the sea surface temperature is above 26.5°C. We are doing research and development to cool the sea surface temperature by exploiting colder water deeper down in the sea. This will help us cope with climate change. The companyOceanTherm AS was founded in 2017 and is engaged in the research and development of methods and technologies preventing tropical storms from becoming devastating. OceanTerm AS also delivers maritime counseling. The challenge Many people have tried to find ways of preventing hurricanes before they make landfall, resulting in the loss of human lives. In recent years we have witnessed intense tropical storms, costing thousands of lives, as well as massive destructions. For example: in 2005, hurricane Katrina killed more than 1,800 people and caused damage of $ 90 billion. In 2016, hurricane Matthew swept across Haiti, taking 852 lives and destroying many towns on the island. The total estimated cost for damage caused by hurricanes in 2017, is calculated at $250 billion. Tropical hurricanes are generated when masses of cold and warm air collide. Another essential factor is that the sea surface temperature is above 26.5°C. Climate change is causing sea surface temperatures to increase. In the case of hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria that occurred between August and September 2017, sea surface temperatures were measured as high as 32°C. The big questionIs it possible to cool the sea surface to below 26.5°C by exploiting colder water from deeper in the water column?
