Appivate AS

Appivate is a Norwegian company that develops mobile applications. Our primary developing tool is Appcelerator Studio, a program that lets us write a single code and translate it to native Android and iOS at runtime. This makes the development time- and cost-efficient. The primary goal is to satisfy the customers in every single project and to deliver a product that reflects the client´s vision. To ensure that we are on the right path we usually advise our customers to start with a prototype made with a sketch and envision. This makes it easy to determine if the customer and we are on the same wavelength.

Icebreaker Global Søreide

A global movement to make it fun & easy to break the ice between people to find true love, friendships, and social activities with an optimal mix of high-tech & high-touch organized as a Master Franchise. The top management team at Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA bought the idea in 2006 as a social benefit. Love & Friendship locally & globally - health & peace! Personal matchmaking, online dating, friendships, mingling! Improving relationship health! Looking for: mentor(s), companies to co-create (pilot project), team members, business partners, investors, etc. Storytelling frame (the truth): Svalbard: Here you can still risk meeting polar bears in the streets. Every semester the university (UNIS) has an icebreaker party! Since 2004 I have tested out different ideas and found them possible to succeed. For more information read this paper: ALYTUS COLLEGE, ISSN 2029-9311, October 30, 2013: 50 % of the world population lives in big cities worldwide - how will this affect our social relationships -- and how to improve these? 50 % of the world population lives in big cities worldwide --and this will increase (globalis.no) - how will this affect our social relationships, and how to improve these? Several statistics underline the challenges of the modern world: 50 % or more are single. 50 % are cheating. 50 % or more break up or divorce. 25 % on sick leave as a result of a relationship breakup. Low libido is now a public health problem. 48 % have only one friend, but not a reliable one in a crisis. 50 % of the population wants more friends. We become more sick from our private lives than our work lives (Modesta Olsen, 2007), and the modern family is the most common family structure (Almendingen, 2010). Which social structures can survive the strain of losing the qualities of faithfulness, honesty, and decency? Cynicism becomes our defense. Depression and feelings of emptiness are the prices we pay. Giving hugs, care, and trust to others not only bring greater happiness - it can also lead to better business. Icebreakercard.com is a new world movement to solve these social challenges. It fights for its vision: Love and friendship locally and globally! Our big goal is to improve your life quality. As social entrepreneurs, we are called the fourth sector which cooperates with the other three: private, public, and civic (Ellis, 2006) with an optimal mix of high tech & high touch! In this paper, I will present my research findings in the Western world (mainly Norway and USA) and my part of the solution as a social entrepreneur of Icebreakercard.com. A social entrepreneur has been described as our time's hero and heroines. We create solutions where none of the sectors have succeeded well enough. Bad relationships lead to health problems in the population across age and gender. Mental health conditions are now the key concern in all of the OECD countries. The employer and the community take the economic bill when the employee is on sick leave. The disease is a private matter, but absence is not. Spect8

Spect8 is a norwegian tech startup with a mission to help sports organizations, pro-athletes and sponsors that don’t have enough time, capacity, or the necessary skills to reach their potential in growing fan engagement and commercial value. Due to the power of association among consumers, brands allocate an increasing amount of their advertising budgets towards sports teams and athletes. To measure the value of a sponsorship, sponsors rely on manual measurements and expensive consulting services. At the same time, athletes, clubs, and federations are left with few resources to decide what their commercial value is, and often forfeit revenue (and funding for their sport) by underselling their commercial value. To solve this problem, we have developed a tool called Foqus. Foqus is an easy-to-use machine learning tool created for sports teams and individual athletes to determine their commercial value for sponsorships, and for brands to manage and measure multiple agreements. We are currently working with Norsk Toppfotball, sports associations, clubs and and several brands, and are off to a good start to reach our goal of creating a new industry standard for how sponsorship value is created, measured, and driven. The existing team consists of three business developers with expertise in strategy, marketing, sponsorship, data and analysis. In addition, we have associated development teams with both front-end, back-end and database expertise. We have recently become a part of StartupLab's Accelerator program, are supported by Innovation Norway and have ambitions to scale our business both nationally and internationally in the coming years. We therefore wish to expand our team with a skilled developer who also wants to make a professional career as an entrepreneur. The CTO will have the overall responsibility for the further development and scaling of our core product, Foqus, as well as the development of new tools and concepts going forward.

TrustLabs AS

TrustLabs is developing an easy-to-use platform that helps small and medium businesses with authenticating and verifying their online customers' identities without having to deal with complex tools nor robbing the bank. Today everyone building a online business needs to settle with IT security tooling that is extremely complex to operate. These are often tools provided by larger Identity Management vendors cobbled together from multiple acquisitions without consideration of the jobs-to-be-done by the developer and IT organizations. Instead of spending weeks or months, the developers should be able to integrate a social provider or electronic identification (eID) provider in minutes and hours into their apps. Our solution is an highly automated platform supporting OpenID Connect and OAuth as main interfaces. Customer applications will only need to work through a single interface that offers normalized responses across the all identity providers so that our customers don't need custom code for each identity provider their app needs to support. Less code is less failures is less time spent on maintenance. With a highly-automated technology stack we are reducing the costs for everyone so that everyone can focus their energy on where it matters the most - generating value through pleasing their customers! Identity management see rapid changes and new innovations. There is always a battle to beat the malicious actors. We see new blockchain based identity schemes emerge aiming for better consumer privacy. This is all good news! At the same time, its important that businesses don't need to scrap their existing technology investements and any new tech should augment, not replace existing infrastructure. That's why the TrustLabs platform supports the new protocols needed for letting businesses use new mobile wallets, such as the EU Digital Identity Wallet, while still supporting traditional identity systems. The TrustLabs founders have worked in the identity management space for many years building successful products serving majority Fortune 500 companies in their digital transformations. We have first hand experience of the struggles that every business goes through when implementing a digital identity strategy. We believe there is a better way, where also small and medium companies can reap the benefits of serving their customers as online businesses. To do that, the security tooling and especially identity related tooling needs vast improvements, not in number of options or features, but in how they solve the jobs to be done in an easy and intuitive manner.

By using IoT sensors to analyze the human-made noise, Waved automatically adjusts the music volume to a perfect level - no matter the circumstances. We make the restaurant and hospitality experience better, no more shouting to hold a conversation - the background music will always balanced. WHY WAVED? THE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE The goal of restaurants, bars and other eating and drinking venues is to provide the best customer experience possible. The customer’s well-being is directly linked to the amount of money spent during their stay and the likelihood that they will return. THE IMPORTANCE OF SOUND Research has shown that a well composed sound environment has direct impact on how the guest’s overall experience and even how the taste of the food and drinks are perceived. LARGE INVESTMENTS IN SOUND EQUIPMENT Most restaurants and bars know how important the sound environment is for a good customer experience and it is common to spend thousands of dollars on sound equipment. WHAT DECIDES THE VOLUME? The volume is usually controlled manually by waiters or bartenders in-between their other duties. Lack of information and knowledge of the customers perception often lead to poor volume level decisions. THE SOLUTION IS WAVED Wall-mounted sensors are placed around the venue and listens to the sound environment. Waved’s brain is build around our self-developed algorithm. It has the ability to understand and evaluate the sound environment and is used to set the perfect sound volume in order to maximise the customer experience.
