Greenphones

Greenphones provides an end to end solution for to extend the lifetime of mobile phones and tablets. Through the provision of a simple user friendly interface allowing private individuals to trade-in their used phones where the value can either be used for the purchase of an upgraded phone or paid out in cash. We saw a clear need in the market to help the consumer and at the same time reduce the number of new mobiles being introduced into the market. As such for each and every new mobile 'not sold' sold in the market, we reduce the CO2 footprint by approximately 55kg. We estimate that we can extend the lifetime of any mobile between 250% and 300% Inspiration for your startup description There are other firms selling used mobile/tablets, but very few that offer the level of service trade-in value. The founders who previously worked with used IT equipment saw that the used mobile market was also in need of a solution. Greenphones has a number of strategies to expand beyond the core business to enhance the circular economy and is constantly in search of ways to support climate initiatives.

SpotOn AS

Our goal is to become the go-to-place for people in need of electrical services by providing the easiest and safest way to get the job done. With SpotOn you order online, get a fixed price instantly and the job done by handpicked pros at a time that suits you. We're an in-house startup backed by one of Norway’s fastest growing companies; Elektroimportøren, a wholesaler of electrical equipment who disrupted their industry by selling directly to end consumers both online and in over 20 retail stores across Norway. Working as a startup and building on our parent company’s strengths and infrastructure has enabled us to scale fast and make our service available to over 70% of Norwegian households. The Problem Our research show that people feel stress just thinking about hiring an electrician and that many struggle to even get started. The main reason being that they don’t know who to contact and what it will cost them to get the job done. But they are also worried because of stories they hear of poor results or misleading prices leading to surprises when the invoice arrives. As a consequence they’ll ask friends or family for recommendations to avoid making the wrong choice. Lack of trust and clarity around pricing creates uncertainty and often leads people to postpone contacting an electrician until absolutely necessary. They learn to live with suboptimal solutions because getting the job done requires too much effort. And when they finally decided to hire an electrician they often experience the person not arriving at the agreed time, and without the necessary equipment to get the job done. The frustration reaches its boiling point when they then have to pay for the extra time needed to drive and pick up the equipment. Our Solution We have digitized the whole process of hiring an electrician, creating a seamless journey from need to end result and a superior booking experience that puts the customer in the driving seat. 01 Instant Fixed Price We’ve built a job-configurator with an inbuilt price calculator making it possible for customers to get a fixed price instantly by answering a few simple questions. This way our customers get’s a price in advance and no surprises when it’s time to pay. 02 Free Video Inspection In addition to our simple job-configurator our customers can book a free video inspection the next day. We’ve hired a team of electricians and built a digital inspection tool making it possible to create and send offers with a fixed price within 24 hours. 03 Handpicked Pros We’ve handpicked pros from Elektroimportøren’s already established network of contractors across the country. This way our customers don’t need to spend time finding a trustworthy electrician and can feel safe knowing the job will be done by qualified professionals. 04 When it Suits You We’ve built a scheduling system from scratch that allows our customers to choose when they want the job done. They simply pick a time and date in our digital calendar and the job is automatically delegated to one of our electricians in the area. 05 Efficient installation We’ve utilised the retail stores across the country to streamline logistics and make installations efficient. We pack and send the electrical equipment in advance so the electricians have all they need, removing unnecessary time spent driving and picking up equipment. 06 Industry-leading Guaranty All our customer are given the opportunity to evaluate their experience after the job is done. Jordisk

Jordisk ("Earthly" in Norwegian) is a start-up based in Norway that is developing a unique distribution platform for sustainable packaging to help businesses which need single-use food packaging to become environmentally friendly by embracing products which are recyclable, compostable and/or biodegradable. We are also a part of the accelerator Fauna: https://www.faunaeksperimentet.no/ There is an immediate need to replace traditional single use packaging that is normally based on fossil based plastics with more sustainable alternatives that already exist in the market. Food packaging is becoming a growing global concern, because of the large amount of waste it generates and the chemicals it contains that can be detrimental to our health. In 2014, out of the 258 million tons of municipal solid waste generated in the US, more than 63 percent was of packaging materials (for food and other purposes) and, overall, only 35 percent (89 million tons) was recycled or composted. What happens to the remaining 65 percent? We all know that landfills are frequently used and that a lot of waste is just burned which leaves a huge carbon footprint. The end of life alternative for food packaging can be significantly improved by using alternative eco-friendly materials that already exist and can be implemented in a circular model. The aim of our distribution platform is to be the natural marketplace for sellers of sustainable food packaging where they can showcase their products to potential buyers who need one time packaging. Moreover, ideal sellers would genuinely care about the environment and have a circular model in order to reduce the carbon footprint as much as possible. A typical customer would be a restaurant that offers takeaway. The food packaging industry operates in a very traditional way with one-to-one contracts and is mature enough for a disruption. With our platform, we can be the link and matchmaker between the supplier and customer. Our goal is to raise awareness in the industry and among consumers, so they can know about sustainable food packaging alternatives such as products that are made of bagasse, bamboo, mycelium, leaves, bio-laminat and plant-based plastic such as PLA. The timing is ideal, as we are currently seeing drastic changes in jurisdiction and lawmaking in Europe, single-use plastic cutlery, cotton buds, straws and stirrers will be banned by 2021 and the EU's Green Deal Strategy is to find sustainable alternatives to replace traditional fossil based plastic. We are currently doing market research in Norway in order to source and partner with producers that could be interested in our platform. The feedback we are getting so far are positive, as most new producers would like further traction in order to get much needed market share. We are actively looking for another person with the technical know-how that wants to join the team to develop this platform with us. Even though we live in an era of Instagram and Facebook where spreading awareness in a particular topic is easier than before, environmental pollution is still one of the most concerning issues in today’s world. We, as consumers, are either too busy to care about packaging, or there aren’t many sustainable options to choose from when buying a product. One of the founders, Rezowan, has a background from the travel industry, and has from many of his previous travels seen the growing amount of plastic going astray, both on land and at sea. In many Asian countries, he has seen that there are no good waste solutions that contribute to, for example, plastic being recycled in a circular way. Over the last 2-3 years, new technology has been developed that makes it easier to choose sustainable and environmentally friendly alternatives, and the main goal is to promote environmentally friendly alternatives to fossil plastics so that society can become more aware of this.

IML Aeroseal AS

We use a new technology for sealing ventilation duct from the inside. The technology was developed in the US in 1994, but didn't reach the European market until 2015. In 2016 ImL Aeroseal started up in Finland, and as of September 1st 2020 we are breaking into the Norwegian market. Our product solves the issues with the traditional sealing of ventilation ducts; using tape and acryllic sealant to try and plug the leaks. Instead we build up a pressure inside the system and inject a small particle gas that finds all the small leakages and seals them. Not only is it faster, but also alot more effective than the previous method, which in turn makes it much more financially beneficent. With a ventilation system that has little to no leakage you extend the life of the engines and maximize the output of the fans. In addition you get cleaner air in the serviced areas. I became a part of this startup because with my 15 years of experience in the ventilation industry I can truly see the advantages of this method to improve the effectiveness of the ventilation systems and enhance the indoor air quality.

Kindernay Corp

Kindernay has developed the world's first, light-weight, robust, and reliable substitute to derailleurs. The Kindernay XIV. The story of Kindernay is a story about passion for cycling and new technologies. We ride trail, DH, freeride, enduro, XC, transport, and road bikes. Sometimes we ride hard, sometimes for fun. We’ve won national level races, and we’ve crashed. Sometimes we break stuff: bikes, parts, and legs. Beside, we’re also engineers, and have decades of experience in the development of complex mechanical devices. Our inventions are on the seabed, terra firma, and in space too. And we’ve delved deep, to bring about innovative transmission parts for automotive brands such as Porsche AG, VAG, and BMW, and heavy truck makers, like MAN, Daimler-Benz, Volvo, and Scania. But that’s another story. We are cyclist and we love our bikes… but we also want them to be better. We believe in a world where gear systems are internal; and here we are, having developed the worlds first, light-weight, robust, and reliable, real substitute to derailleurs. The Kindernay XIV. Kindernay is a registered trademark of CA Technology Systems AS, a limited liability corporation registered in Norway.
